My wrists were on fire as I was swung back and forth by the Elves that were carrying the pole I was tied to. I relaxed my neck making my head fall backwards. The woods looked a thousand miles long and my hopes of returning home were fading fast. Elves are extremely strong but I was still surprised they managed to tie-up my wings. Regular ropes couldn’t have held even for a second. I wonder what makes these so strong.

We suddenly stopped and I looked up; walls. They towered over all the trees in the forest and it seemed to appear out of nowhere! I looked back again and noticed the rest of the Elves just appearing out of nowhere through an invisible wall. I stared, gaping at the humongous castle in front of me. A little girl came up next to me and closed my mouth.

“Welcome to Tayio!” She shouted throwing her hands in the air. Her short blue hair flowed like silk as she spun around on her toes. She patted her daisy dress down some of the white petals fell off like tear drops to the ground. “What’s your name?” She asked; her bright pink eyes glowing.

“Uh, Blast.” I said trying to sound as nice as possible, while smiling forcefully. The little girl smiled brightly and then starred with interest at my wings. “Hey, little girl what’s your name?” She looked at me confused then smiled widely.

“Makeeda! It means the beautiful.” She said proudly. A guard came over to her side and cleared his throat. She looked up; her face slightly annoyed that he interrupted her conversation. “What is it guard?” She said raising her eyebrows. The guard looked straight ahead.

“What do you want us to do with the trespasser, princess?” My mouth dropped open from his words; princess?! Did he mistake her for someone else?! Makeeda smiled regally and looked at me.

“Guard, I want you to take her to the guest room next to mine.” She smirked at him and walked forward to the front gates of the castle. Makeeda stood on the top step of the 10 steps to the door of the castle. Around the huge castle were a bunch of little houses. Children ran from the huge mob of people who ambushed me in the forest. Husbands and wives held each other’s hands and walked to their house where children had already run in. As Makeeda walked in she turned around, took one last look at me, and smiled.

I was taken off the pole and sat on the ground. One of the guards took my arm and led me inside the castle.

“What is this place?” I mumbled. The guard next to me rolled his eyes and looked at me harshly.

“Didn’t you hear the Princess? This is Tayio.” He said turning away. We walked through a maze of hallways and doors.

“How come no one else has blue hair?” I asked curiously.

Again the guard rolled his eyes and looked at me like I was stupid. I could feel my teeth and my nails sharpening quickly. I had to resist myself from tearing this guy’s face off. I knew if I did that I would surely be kicked out, and I needed a place to stay.

We reached a beautiful wooden door, with flowers and different symbols carved into it.

“Well this is your room. The Princess’s room is right over there. She said once you get comfortable go and see her.” He turned away and I almost lost it.

“Ok Mr. Know-it-all. Do you know what it feels like to have each of your teeth pulled out one by one slowly and painfully and then crushing them up for you to swallow?” I said with my hands still tied together. My smile had grown to my ears and my eyes were radiating red. The guard elf fell to the ground and the crawled away scared out of his wits. I regained my posture and flipped my blonde hair out of my face. “Ok.” I said satisfyingly. I walked into the room and my mouth fell open.

The room was completely black and white; right down to the flowers. The bed was black and white zebra stripes and a black lace like veil was draped over it. All around the room were black vases and white vases with black flowers and white flowers in them. I sat down on the bed and noticed my wings still tied and so were my hands.

“That idiot!” I harshly whispered to myself. “He forgot to untie me.” With nothing more to do I got up from the comfortable bed and walked the short distance to Makeeda’s room.

I stepped inside and was outshined by the bright hot pink room. I had to squint to even look at her clearly.

“Hello Blast. Come and sit down.” She said politely. It was a little creepy.

“Uh. Sure.”  She placed a small pink tea cup in-front of me.

“Nectar?” She asked holding up the little pot.

“No thank you.” I said holding up my tied hands. She set the pot down and looked at me seriously.

“Where is he?” She asked. I sat there with a questioning look on my face.

“Where is who?” She rolled her big pink eyes.

“My brother!” She yelled slapping her hands on the pink table and standing up. I was taken back.

“How am I supposed to know!?” I shouted a little more meanly than I intended. The guards walked a little bit towards me.

“Casey! I can smell him on your wings!” She shouted at the top of her lungs while tears dripped from her face onto the table.

“Casey?” I whispered. She looked up at me her eyes now red and puffy.

“He ran away a couple years ago. He was my only friend.” She said but I could barely hear her. “You have to help me find him.” My face hardened and I became furious.

“Find him yourself.” I said standing up. Two guards came over to me and grabbed my shoulders. Makeeda looked up at the guards and lowered her head. I easily shook the guards off and walked over to my room.

I sank down to the floor.

So this is why he didn’t want to come into the forest.  I thought to myself. I stood up and walked to the bed.  My wings and hands were still tied but I could care less. I needed sleep.
