Chapter 6 Saved?

SMACK! My head was thrown violently to the side and my cheek throbbed with pain. 

                “What the hell did you do that for!!?” I screamed at the guard. I tried to tackle him but I could barley move. I looked down and saw my whole body from my neck to my feet tied up with a super strong rope. I was standing strait up; my back pinned against a tall pole and I was at least 3 feet off the ground.

                 “What is this thing made of?!” I yelled harshly; my voice scruffy from the morning.

                “Gnome beard hair.” Makeeda said coming towards me. Her dress today was made of roses and the scent reached my nose and made me gag from how strong it was.

                “Why am I tied up?!” I screamed again. She walked around the pole slowly with her hands behind her back.

                “Because you are my bait.” She said calmly. “But that’s too many questions, let’s cut to the chase. I want my brother back and you want to go home, so let’s work together. If you can bring Casey back I’ll let you go.” 

                “What Casey does is not my decision. If you want him back so bad why not go and find him yourself you little brat.” I said harshly.

                SMACK! Again I was slapped and my cheek stung twice as bad.

                “You don’t talk to the princess like that!” The guard screamed in my face. My teeth grew and I snapped at his nose. He stumbled back slightly but then stood up strait and walked back to Makeeda’s side.

                “Look Makeeda, I have no control over your brother I didn’t even know he was royalty until yesterday!” I said calmly. “But you need to let me go or I will destroy your whole town.”  

                She laughed unaffected.

                “Ok then well I have no use for you anymore.” She turned her back to me and I looked down. Two guards were setting up logs beneath me and another came towards them carrying a lit torch.

                They were going to burn me. I struggled desperately; this has never happened to me before, I was the one that made people squirm, I was the one that stirred up fear in people. Why was this happening to me!

                “BLAST!” I twisted my head to see Casey sprinting towards me his blue hair looking like a sheet of silk in the wind. He pulled a small blade from his belt and cut the ropes like they were nothing but a piece of paper. “Geez girl, how many times do I need to save you?!”

                “Casey! Oh thank god!” I jumped off the pole easily and opened my wings to their full length. “Makeeda.” I called. I spotted her short blue hair in the sea of Elves and pulled her towards me. “I never lie.” I let go of her and went to a small house near me and with one powerful flap of my wings it fell down in a heap. Casey helped me slightly by carving into the castle with his knife. I never looked at him though; I was too absorbed in my rage.

“Ok that’s enough. Let’s go.”Casey said as he grabbed my shoulder. I quickly turned around, my eyes full of rage and my teeth sharper than diamonds. My hair blew around my face and when it cleared I saw Casey starring at me the same look in his eyes. Suddenly he was thrown from my sight. A guard tackled him like a pro.

                “CASEY!” I screamed. I saw Makeeda run towards me with a knife in her small fist.

                “Stop it! Stop it!” She shouted. Tears streamed down her face and her dress was partially singed from the fires. She took a jab at me with the small dagger but I quickly dodged it. “I know what you’re after!” She said quickly. I picked her up and stared right at her. My wings easily knocked away other elves trying to get to her.

                “What am I after?” I asked her cautiously. She kept squirming but managed to calm down.

                “The Necklace of Wings.” She said simply. “I know where it is and if you can get Casey to stay here, I’ll tell you where it is.” I thought about what she said. She could be lying, but what’s the big deal? Casey isn’t anything special to me; is he?
