I woke up that Monday morning two weeks after dad had left again. It felt like forever since I had seen him yet I had pictures and videos and memories that were two weeks old. I dragged myself out of bed and pulled on my grotesque school uniform and my leather on-the-shoulder bag and walked out. Mum was crying into a handkerchief when I got downstairs and I dropped my bag and ran over too her.
"Mum!" I said hugging her. She sobbed into my shoulder and I didn't mind a bit.
"I miss him so much" she wept.
"I know me too" I said.
"But you deal with it and get on but I just sit here and cook and clean and cry" she said. She didn to have a job, not a proper one anyway, we basically lived off Dad's income and her money from her part time job down at the local library.
"I have so much to do it just slips away" I said.
"Anyway, want any breakfast?" Mum asked. I thought about what we had, fruit or cereal. Nope.
"No thanks, I'm gonna go early I think" I said and picked up my bag kissed mum and grabbed my ear opine off the table then headed outdoors plugging my headphones in and turning on my favourite album.
"Hey gurl!" Zoe called from the gates where we usually met.
"Hey Zo" I said putting my headphones in my bag and we began walking to the other gate near the bus stop where Louise came in.
"So what did you do over summer?" She asked me.
"Went out with you, dad came home, dad left again" I said quickly feeling the tears again but blinked them again quickly. It felt good be a year older, second to eldest in the school and it felt good.
"Alfie and I went horse riding and roller skating..." she spoke but I blanked her out as I saw the most popular guys in the school advancing towards us. Alfie Deyes- Zoe's boyfriend- the cool, calm and hottest guy ever. Joe Sugg, the musician and my crush. Marcus Butler, the school suck up, the principal's son. Casper Lee, the sporty guy and Louise's crush.
"Hey babe!" Alfie called, I must admit I was thankful that Zoe was going out with Alfie and that meant I could spend more time with Joe.
"Hey you!" She said hugging him.
"Hey you're Lily aren't you?" Asked Joe. Be cool!
"Yeah I am" I said playing it cool.
"Joe Sugg" he said holding out his hand. I shook it gingerly.
"I'm Marcus" Marcus said like he was just another random person at the school and not the most feared tell tale in the school.
"Hi Marcus" I said.
"And I'm Casper" Casper said adjusting his Pe bag on his shoulder.
"Hi Casper" I said. In the corner of my eye I saw Zoe and Alfie snogging each other's face off behind my, I quickly reverted my eyes and concentrated on what Joe was saying to me.
"So, since them two are together we're gonna be together quite a lot" he said.
"I guess so" I shuffled playing it so cool I couldn't believe myself. I saw Louise storming towards me from the other side of the pathway.
" I waited ten minuets for you!" She said pretending to be mad.
"Sorry Zoe got caught up" I said gesturing to the two lovers.
"Oh well" she said noticing I was stood with her crush and his friends.
"Hi Louise" Casper said.
"Hi, and you are?" She asked sending me into fits of laughter.
"Casper" he said.
"Ahh yes I remember you, you got a red card in football didn't you?" She asked "last year?"
"Yeah but I still got man of the match" he said going bright red.
"But you got a red card" she pushed on. I need to get her to teach me how to be that cool around my crush.
A/N: told you it was getting better, more stuff like this coming up. Thanks for reading this far and please carry on. Stay cool✌️ xxx
