My room was quite large actually. I had a view of the field behind the house with a lake in it. There was a bed in the corner with bland sheet it. Kelly had made me bring everything. Duvet covers, pictures, headphones, phone charger, CDs, stereo. Basically the whole of my room. I put the stereo on the white unit and my favourite CDs next to it all stacked up. I out my curtains up and my phone on charge in the plug next to my side table. I unpacked my clothes and threw the ones I needed ironingon the bed. I stored my make up on the tiny vanity I was given. I checked myself over in the mirror.
"How can I look after everyone now dad?" I asked myself and somehow I expected an answer. I went downstairs and met everybody. Lucy was a 16year old girl who had been here for three years. Thomas was a twin and he had been here seven months, his twin Was Mathew. Rebecca was 6 and she was the daughter of Simon and was so cute. Jay, Steven, Jack, Michael and James are all 4 and they have been here two months after their own care home burnt down. Lucy was really nice, she kept saying how things would get better and it was nice to have company but I nearly felt like crying.
I eventually went up the bed when a final bell sounded. I couldn't wait for tomorrow when I could see everybody again. I climbed into bed and texted Joe. Before I knew it I was crying over the phone telling him everything and the timetable and the people and missing him and home. I heard a knock on my door and I glanced at the clock. 12:45am. Oops. I slid the phone under my duvet and pretended to be asleep, there were red circles under my eyes and tears drops were still on my cheeks.
"Lily?" Asked Simon. I didn't answer "no more phoning now, it's too late"
I lay there and eventually drifted to sleep with the honor still under my duvet.
