Little soldier

2 months later

"Hey babe!" Joe called to me. I couldn't be happiest at this point in my life. For all I knew Dad was safe, we were officially popular and today was my three week anniversary with Joe. Had asked me out not long ago, we hung out a lot and when I said yes he was an instant romantic. Held hands, hugged even kissed a few times. He came over nearly every weekend and he admired my dad's photos on the walk and he praised my remixes. My mum got suspicious the first time round but them he was super polite and won her over. Me and Zoe loved having boyfriends that were best friends, we went to the 'big place' sometimes shopping and for some lunch. Tanya still hadn't own over Jim and Marcus and Niomi were always off somewhere and Louise and Casper didn't really hit it off either. I, sure she was more into Dan or Phil.

"Hey!" I said as I was pulled into a hug on that warm Friday morning. I felt fresh as he walked me to class and we sat down at the same desk. We had managed to persuade our form tutor to let us sit together. We secretly held hands under the desk and did thumb wars too. Our tutor always played the news bulletins in the first half an hour of form time and everyone groaned but I listened eagerly if anything was said about dad.

"And now, Soldiers I'm Afghanistan are in danger as plans to perform a secret attack on the front line army base has been leaked from the enemy. Officials say that the soldier are trained well and know how to cope in these situations" the news lady said I my heart nearly stopped everyone stopped and looked at me but I didn't care, I felt Joe squeeze my hand under the table and I leaned forward as if ep urging the lady to go on "Sarah Kendrick reports"

"Thanks, today it has been heard that the opposite side has been planning a huge attack on the front line army base near the centre if the war zone. Officials say that it is risky to do patrols on foot so they request to use the bomb safe trucks for patrolling in the front line area" she said. Dad's camp was the camp they are planning to attack! Tears spilled from my eyes and I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up, dropped Joe's hand and ran out of the room.

"Lily!" Joe called. I ran to the only place I knew best. The music practise room. I sat down on the piano stool and cried my heart out. I heard footsteps and Joe came in. He cuddled me and told me everything was going to be ok. But i knew deep down it was not.
