Taylor's POV
Someone tell me why I'm here. I mean seriously, I could have spent my time at home, working on loads of homework, and not listening to Lila blab on and on. It's come to my attention that when it comes to being the younger sibling, the older one, does not at all pay attention to that sibling. Why? Sadly, I don't have all the answers as of now. "I'm not going," I Lila, telling her that there is no way am I going to this party. We're at a coffee shop right now since we both don't have any classes and I sit down as Lila gives me my coffee.
My poor older sister cannot understand what she's asking me here. I'm sorry, but if someone told you that they were going to take you somewhere that you don't want to be, you would feel sorry for me. "Oh come on Taylor. It's not fair. You're such a beautiful girl," Lila tells me with a very widened smile. "Tell me, when did you last go out on a date with an actual person?"
Ha, this again. I can't even tell you how many times Lila has asked me that sort of question before. Probably since the day I hit puberty, she's been asking me that same question. No, forgive me, probably since the day she found herself a boyfriend. Don't know how, but somehow she found someone who can deal with her. Hooray for them.
"Can you be any louder? Why the hell do I even have to go to this party anyway?" My sister rolls her eyes and I'm beginning to wonder why I'm not the older one. My sister is a year older then I and my parents were thrilled that I was going to the same college as her. Yup, thrilled. Although Lila looks a tad of like me, she does not think like me. As for facial appearances, I have naturally brown hair yet Lila has blonde highlights incorporated with her's. I have blue eyes, she has brown eyes. We have some differences when it comes to looks, but inside, we're sisters. Sadly our DNA confirmed it for me as I tried many times to prove to my parents that I'm adopted. I cannot believe that geneticist was right.
"Taylor, you have to come." She whines. "I'm going and you can't just stay home and be all alone in the apartment. You need to stop being a little introvert girl that's scared of literally everything and come with me!" Okay wow. Mean much? I almost respond back with those exact words yet I hold back. Instead, I bite my lip and think about what I would do at the party. Huh, nothing comes to my mind.
Then why do I need to be there again? "Where's the party happening?" I blurt out without even thinking as to what I just asked her. Oh, Taylor you foolish girl. You are so going to get it now. I watch as Lila mischievously smiles at me, making me now feel uncomfortable. I sit back and wait for the individual's name to be blurted out by Lila.
"At some guy's house," she says with a shrug.
Um, what? "You don't know him?!" I cough out.
"Of course I do silly! He's a friend." I roll my eyes, wondering what she means by that.
"Okay..." I'm not going. I'll just stay at home and actually do something productive. Such as stuffing my face with amounts of food that has sugar.
"You're going," she quickly says. Crap, I really should learn when to shut my own mouth and not argue with my own thoughts.
"Dammit. You heard that?" She nods, sipping her coffee. "And sugar? Really?" she snickers.
"So." I glance right back. "How do you know this guy again?" I question her.
"He's in one of my classes," she shrugs.
Her answer's not good enough for me. "What class?" I ask. I really don't care if I'm pushing it or not. I'm being smart and careful of myself. If Lila knows the guy and I don't, this does mean that I'm still going to his house just because she knows him. I have a brain thank you very much.
