TAYLOR (CHAPTER 55)
"This is a horrible idea," I mutter as I fix my hair and makeup. I just changed out of the bridesmaid dress into the dress that Victor gave me which, to be honest, looks very sexy on me. Maybe I can do this.
"Mia I can't do this!" I shout at her, watching her put on her earrings.
"You need to calm down sheesh. I thought you had this all under control?"
"Pff, I was just saying that to make me feel better, but it's not working!"
"Calm down. You're yelling again," she tells me. "Plus, you look incredibly sexy!. You got this under control and you know why?"
"Not really," I say.
"Because you have that fantastic dress on. That's why. Trust me, Ben will flirt back with you, and Carter will get jealous! It's an amazing plan!"
"Yes, because using someone to make someone else jealous is so amazing," I say sarcastically.
"Don't be like that. You agreed and you're doing it. Now, let's go to reception and find our seats. I'm pretty sure we're sitting with Lila, Shawn, your parents and his. You okay with that?"
"Of course I am."
"Great! So, are you ready to have fun?"
"I guess," I say, following Mia as we leave the bathroom. We enter the wedding reception and in seconds I'm blown away by how beautiful it looks. My eyes stare at the Anemone purple flowers that Lila wanted instead of the roses. They are beautifully placed in vases, in the center of the table. I then carefully stare at the people who are sitting down at the tables, trying to find Carter yet somehow I can't find him.
"You okay?" I hear Mia say.
"I can't find him anywhere," I whisper in her ear, the loud voices of people surround the entire room making it hard to even think.
"Don't worry, he's here somewhere. Let's just go sit down alright?" I nod, following Mia across the dance floor, spotting my parents and Shawn's parents sitting down at the table. I then find Ben sitting down next to Mia's boyfriend, making me cringe at the fact that I have to flirt with the guy.
"Hey babe," Mia says to her boyfriend as she sits right next to him.
"Damn Taylor, you look sexy and delicious at the same time," Ben says standing up, pressing a kiss on my cheek. Ugh, this is complete torture.
"Ben, stop. My parents are right there," I tell him, pushing him away from me. Embarrassed I look at my parents, which to be honest, aren't even paying attention.
"Uh, mom?" My mother then turns her head and looks at me with a smile, my father then giving me a high five.
"Hey kid," my dad says.
"Oh Taylor, you look so gorgeous, darling!" My mother shouts, giving me a hug.
"So you do mom. As always."
"Hey, what about me?" My father says.
"You look extremely handsome in your suit dad."
"I know right," he says with a grin. As I talk to my parents I almost sit down next to my mom, yet Mia, of course, takes my hand and makes me sit next to Ben. So now, I'm sitting next to Ben, and Mia is right next to me.
"So Taylor, I hope you'll show me some moves on the dance floor because I will ask you to dance later," Ben says with a smirk.
"Oh, great," I mumble, annoyed that I now have to dance with the guy. Taking a sip of water Mia elbows me in the side, making me choke. "What?!"
"Don't be rude. Flirt," Mia whispers in my ear. Sighing I nod, turning my chair a bit so I can fully face Ben.
"Um, so, you dating anyone?" Why. You had to ask that question? You could've asked any question that wasn't this Taylor!
"Nope. You know me, Taylor, I don't date. The only thing I know is to rock a girl's night, which if you want, I would be happy to rock yours" Ben says with a wink. My stomach then starts to churn, and not in a good way.
"We'll see about that."
"But seriously, why do you ask?" he asks
"I guess I just wanted to start a conversation, but sadly, it went the wrong way."
Laughing Ben says, "well why don't I ask you that question then? Are you dating anyone at the moment?"
"You know me, Ben, I don't date. I work. I'm a workaholic."
"Damn, that sucks. So you still a virgin then?"
"What do you think?" I ask him, wondering what he'll say.
"Well, I don't know. I've known you for what? Three years? Of all those years I just kept watching you and I only saw a girl who didn't want to be talked to, touched, or asked out by a guy. Trust me, I tried." I blush at Ben's words, remembering all the times he kept on asking me out, yet I kept saying no. It's not that he's a bad guy or anything, I just see him more as a brother to me. Plus, his cousin did marry my sister and so it could never work out.
"Ben, you know that I've always seen you as a brother right?" Ben laughs at my words, taking a sip of water.
"I know, I know," he says with a sigh. "So you still a virgin or what?" I laugh at him, punching his arm.
"I guess I have to tell you huh?"
"Yup. So what is it? Yes or no babe?"
"No," I mumble the word.
"Did you say what I think you said?" I groan, rubbing my eyes.
"Ben stop. Can't we just change the conversation?"
"Wait a minute, wait a minute, who did you do it with?"
"What?"
"Don't act dumb Taylor. Who did you lose it to?"
"Um..."
"I swear to god Taylor if you tell me that someone either raped you or you did it when you were drunk, I'm gonna fucking kill you and the guy," Ben says angrily. Cursing under my breath, I knew this was a bad idea.
"Oh my god, no!"
"Then who?!"
"Just some guy I was dating Ben. Don't worry about it."
"Do I know the kid?"
"He's not a kid, he's the same age as you," I tell him.
"Then who the fuck is he?!"
"I'm not telling you! Can't you just calm down? Please?" I can literally picture the fire come out of his ears and nostrils like he's a dragon by how mad he's getting.
"Fine. But you owe me a dance. For real," Ben says. Laughing I nod, keeping that a promise.
"Thanks, Benjamin," I say, pressing a kiss on his cheek.
"Ugh, don't call me that, but thank you for the kiss babe," he says with a smirk. As I'm about to reply, I feel a tug on my arm, making me stand up from my seat.
"Mia stop it! You're hurting me," I tell her, not knowing why she had to do that.
"Oops sorry, but guess what?!" she says in excitement.
"What?"
"The moment you kissed Ben's cheek, guess who saw it?"
"I don't know, you?" Mia scoffs at my answer, rolling her eyes.
"No! Your ex!" she shouts quietly.
"Wha-what?" I stutter, not even remembering how to breathe at the moment.
"Shit, this is getting good," Mia says with a grin, and in seconds she turns me around, my eyes staring at the one person that could make me melt in seconds. The one person who can stop my heart from beating. The one person that has been on my mind for five freakin years.
"Hey princess." Fuck. My. Life.
