Sirius watched the ocean waves roll across the beach as he sped over the long roads on his motorbike. His leather jacket was adorned with various band patches and well as a large emblem embroidered across the back.

" The Marauders"

The Marauders were a group of friends who traveled the country on their motorcycles. They called themselves a gang, but in reality they were far from it.

Sirius followed behind James as they rode across the open road, their friend Peter trailed behind. He watched as the surfers took the monstrous waves with ease. He scoffed at them, wondering why anyone would waste their time on the sad excuse for a sport.

He eyed all of them suspiciously, but one man had his attention. His face was tinged red from sunburn and his body was covered in freckles. Curly sandy blond locks flowed over his head similarly to the waves that he emerged from.

Sirius was so infatuated with the man that he almost didn't notice when James filled over to a burger shack just off the side of the beach. They pulled their bikes into the lot and made their way into the restaurant.

The Beach Boys played over the crackling speakers, and Sirius could practically hear James and Peter roll their eyes.

" I'll take a burger and fries."

" Any drinks with that," the cashier asked, annoyance not skillfully hidden on her features. She clearly recognized the boys' hate for the place.

" A coke."

The girl tucked her red, beach waves behind her ears as she took the 3 quarters from James.

The boys sat in a small booth, the table of said booth being a refurbished surf board.

" I don't get it," James whispered, "They're just standing on a piece of wood in the middle of the water."

" Well you're just sitting on a hunk of metal in the middle of the road. And when comparing a piece of asphalt to the salty waters of the ocean, I'd say we win."

The Marauders whipped their head around to see the same man that Sirius has spotted earlier walking through the doors of the burger shack.

James and Peter scoffed, but Sirius found the sarcastic remark to be amusing. He stifled down his laughter and plastered a scowl on his face.

" I'll have you know that ' hunk of metal' is a finely crafted machine that's far better than your crappy piece of driftwood!" Sirius shot back.

The boy smirked, " Well if you hate it so much, why are you here?"

Sirius looked to James for help.

" Unfortunately this is the only place to eat for miles, and being the humans that we are, we do need to eat food."

The man shrugged and continued to the counter.

"Suit yourself, but if any of you boys want to come down to the water you know where to find me."

He looked at Sirius and winked, causing the other to blush.

James once again rolled his eyes and scoffed at the surfer.

" Yeah right, like we would ever get bored enough to pursues such a stupid hobby. I'd rather whittle."

Peter and James laughed, not noticing that their companion hadn't joined them. Sirius watched as the man walked through the doors, a bottle of Coca Cola in hand.

" Padfoot? You okay?"

" Huh? Oh yeah. You two fill up the bikes, I have some business to attend to."

The two other boys gave each other glances, but didn't stop the third member of their group.

Sirius walked out onto the beach, searching for someone in particular. His boots filled with sand as they were not meant for the beach. He swore under his breath and tried to shake the sand out of his shoe.

" You must be getting hot out here with all that leather on."

Sirius looked up to see that same man staring at him with an amused expression.

" I wasn't planned to make a detour to the beach, believe it or not."

" Really? I hadn't noticed."

" I'm Sirius."

" Remus. What brings you out here Sirius? Looking for some surfing lessons? Don't worry, I won't tell your pals."

" Ah, well sadly, as you pointed out, I don't have the proper attire."

Remus smiled, " Well I think we can fix that problem, don't you?"

He gripped Sirius' leather jacket with both hands and started to peel it off of the other man.

Sirius sucked in a breath, but did not protest to the action.

" Follow me," Remus started to lead Sirius to a different area of the beach when a shout was heard.

" Oi! Siri! What do you think you're doing?"

Sirius laughed.

"Well it looks like I better head back."

Remus smiled once more.

" Well I hope you'll give surfing a second chance, Sirius. Maybe I'll see you around?"

" Yeah, I think so."

Sirius headed back out to the parking lot where his bike was stored, but not before stopping inside to get a new patch to add to his jacket.

Catch a Wave and you'll be sitting on top of the world....
