The bunker sat softly in the ground, as suddenly the door bursted open. A foot stepped out softly into the bright green summer grass, as Jax took in the warm August air. It had been five months since the group got to the bunker, leaving behind Lisa and James. Winter had been over for a while, and the group had managed to build traps surrounding the camp, along with a trip wire system in case anyone got any ideas about the bunker. It had been a quiet few months for them, as they had not seen a single person the whole 5 months. Just the casual walker roaming past the bunker or setting off a trap. They also set up a sort of boundary, in which if anyone had crossed it they would be killed. It was a strict rule, but that's how life was like now. Almost 3 years into the apocalypse can do that to people.
Jax continued to breath in the air, as the sun beat down on him. He took a look around, seeing nothing in sight, as he sighed and went back into the bunker.

"Good Morning, Jax." David said as he stood in the kitchen, brewing coffee.

"Mornin' David, how'd you sleep?" He asked as he walked over to him.

"Never better." David said as he sat and waited for the coffee. "Thank god we went back and looted the old cabin, right?"

"Yeah. Who knew Richard had so much coffee stored up, huh?" Jax said as he sat down at the table with David. "Got some harsh memories of that place though."

"Yeah?" David said, looking up at Jax. "Such as?"

Jax took a deep breath and then let out a long sigh. "Oh ya know besides being shot and everything, I guess it wasn't so bad?" He said and began to laugh, David laughing along with him.

"Yeah. That really sucked." David said, as he gave Jax a stern look.

"Wanna know one thing I never understood?" Jax said. "Why did you guys leave me behind in the first place?"

David sighed. "It was a last minute decision. There was a horde of walkers heading towards the cabin so we left until it passed. We all knew you'd be fine alone there but all of us in that cabin was risky. We came back a week later and you were still unconscious. Then we got ambushed and some of us were brought to this, scrap yard. Caroline never told you about any of this?" He asked.

"She says she 'doesn't want to talk about it'. Apparently it's too hard for her to discuss." Jax said shrugging.

"Huh. Anyway,  Olivia and I got them out safely, alongside- ahem." David stopped as he cleared his throat. "Alongside James. He really saved our ass's. Anyway, he went back to the cabin alone and claimed you were dead.. and we believed it. It had been 2 weeks and the generator had failed on you, or as James had claimed. I'm still sorry, Jax. We all are."

Jax closed his eyes and remembered James. He kept Caroline alive for 10 months and he decided to abandon him, none the less Lisa too? "It's okay. It's in the past now." Jax said, as he turned his attention up to Insanity which was now sitting on nails attached to the wall.

The coffee finished brewing as David went and poured himself a mug full. "Want some?" He asked Jax.

Jax sat and remembered how James would always offer him coffee in the mornings at the cabin. He sat in deep thought for a moment about it, as he finally snapped out of it. "I'm okay. I'll get some later, thanks." He said as he stood up and walked out and into the master bedroom.

He saw Chloe sleeping softly in the crib that was left at the bunker. Jax assumed whoever the previous owner of the bunker was clearly had plans for a child or already had one. But whoever they were, they were long gone by now. He turned his attention to Caroline who also slept softly in bed. Jax sat down on the edge of the bed, with his back turned to Caroline.
