"How are you feeling today, Seongwoo?" asked Jisung.Seongwoo smiled from his desk. "I'm fine, Jisung. How are they doing?"
Jisung smiled back, sitting on the edge of Seongwoo's messy desk.
His desk was filled with a stack of paperwork and a list of the wishes that he could choose from.
"Young and Daniel are doing fine. We wouldn't have paired them up if we didn't think that they would like each other."
"I know, but it all seemed so real. At least, it eventually ended up feeling real. I've never had a problem with inserting fake memories into humans before," Seongwoo admitted, putting down his pen to look at Jisung.
"It rarely happens, but it does happen. We were born as gods, not humans. It's not a sin to wonder what it would be like to be human. It's a sin to act out on that plan," Jisung reminded him. "Do you regret being born as a god? We're gods for a reason, Seongwoo. Don't forget that. We have a duty to carry out by making humans happy."
"I don't regret it, Jisung, but I really do wonder what it would be like to be human—to be with Daniel... Lately, my urges have been getting stronger. I don't... I don't think I can—" he paused. "I'm sorry. Never mind, it's stupid of me to even finish that sentence."
"No," Jisung replied. "It's okay. Finish the sentence. I'm here to listen."
Seongwoo sighed, staring down at his lap. "I don't think I can control myself anymore. Something changed and I don't know what it is. It just feels different."
Jisung nodded. "I'll have a talk with councilman Woojin. We can sort this out. After all, our jobs aren't to only make humans happy. We're all supposed to be happy."
"Jisung, what are you talking about?"
Jisung smiled, sliding off the desk and walking out the door. "You'll see soon."
Seongwoo didn't want to see soon. He was afraid of what Jisung was up to.
