Yuuri could feel his bones shaking from the cold of the dark, foggy forest of dead trees, and from the fear of meeting the witch again. He didn't even remember how he got there, or how he and everyone else got the weapons they had. All he knew was that they were to take down the Wicked Witch, and that probably wouldn't succeed.
With every step onto the extremely dry leaves, Yuuri felt his stomach lurch farther into his mouth, growing paler. So far, they had no idea where the castle was, and there were creatures all over with beady red glowing eyes.
Finally, the Scarecrow sighed and stepped farther ahead. "Oh, come on. All we're doing is scaring ourselves before we've even seen this witch. I bet you she's not dangerous at-"
Suddenly, a flying monkey screeched and grabbed Scarecrow, carrying him off to another group to be shredded to pieces. Another one came and snatched Tin Man as he swung his ax around wildly. As the Cowardly Lion was chased away, Yuuri held Makkachin close.
"Don't worry, we'll make it out of here, I pro- AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"
A winged monkey came and snatched Yuuri from Makka as he kicked and punched the monkey (a/n: in more ways than one) and screamed for help. Another monkey came and, with some help from another monkey, took Makkachin to the sky.
At this point, the Tin Man had scared away the monkeys from himself and from the Lion, so they band together to help put the Scarecrow back together. Again.

Yuuri found himself holding Makkachin close while in the alchemy lab the Witch had. The Witch paced in front of them, then stopped and smirked.
"... You seem to love this beast a lot." The Witch stated ominously.
"Of course," Yuuri responded. "She's my dog, and Victor's dog as well. I couldn't see a life without her now."
The Witch smiled, then snatched Makka away by the collar, dragging the whining puppy to a winged monkey. Yuuri yelped and reached for her, but was blocked by the Witch. "If you want it back, give me those skates!"
"But, Glinda told me not to-"
"Mila, throw the creature into the alligator moat." The Witch smiled.
"NO!" Yuuri screamed, shaking. "Please, I'll do whatever you want, just give Makka back to me," he sobbed.
The Witch grit his teeth. "Then, give me the skates!"
"Take them! Please! Just take them already!" Yuuri stood straight, closing his eyes. He tried to calm down by thinking of good things. Victor, Makka, skating, katsu-don.
As the Witch reached for the shoes, an electric shock of magic struck him from the shoes. He growled and pulled away, glaring at Yuuri. "You're too adjusted to the magic. They've grown attached to you!" He turned away and looked to Mila. "Put that dog in the dungeon."
"NO!"
Suddenly, Makkachin got away from the monkey and raced out of the castle, while Yuuri called after with praise. The Witch grabbed Yuuri's arm and threw him to the ground, then took a large hourglass and flipped it over so the red sand from the bottom started to pour out. "When this sand runs out, you'll be dead. And those slippers will be mine!" The Witch and Mila left Yuuri alone in the room and locked it, leaving Yuuri to try to find a way out. When he couldn't find anything, he sat down and started to softly sob.

When Makkachin finally found the others from the group, she barked and rushed up to them. They greeted her, and started to follow her to the castle.
"How will we get in," asked the Scarecrow.
"... Disguises." The Tin Man responded.
"By not going in," said the Lion. Scarecrow and Tin Man gave him a knowing look of disapproval.
"Where will we get uniforms?"
"Maybe we can... Sneak up on an unsuspecting group of soldiers, and ambush them!"
And, then they were ambushed.
