Hello!
So, you can probably guess which oneshot story I'm doing now. And, I am really excited. I don't think I'll be dragging this out so long, but it depends.
Let's dive right in, shall we?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was anxious, unhappy, and quite... Well, heavy. But then, one winter's night, a young woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for his attention from the bitter cold of loneliness. Frightened by her sudden infatuation, the prince rejected the gift and turned the young woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for true love is found within. And when he ran from her again, the young woman's mortal form melted away to reveal a vengeful enchantress. The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she felt that there was no love in his heart. And as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there. Ashamed of his monstrous form, the beast concealed himself inside his castle, with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 23rd year. If he could learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time. As the years passed, he fell into depression and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a beast?
------------------------------------------------------
Years later, in a small village, a young man awoke and began his normal day about the new world he was thrust into just a few years ago. He brushed his newly cut platinum blond hair, dressed in a nice white shirt and dark pants, pulled on his dark salmon jacket, and started to walk out the front door when his father, Yakov Feltsman, pulled him back in.
"And just where are you going, Victor?" his father asked gruffly. Victor smiled sheepishly and shrugged.
"... Into the village?"
"In the middle of winter. When it's snowing. To ice skate?" Yakov growled, a vein already popping from his forehead.
Victor looked away "innocently". "I have no idea of what you mean. Well, I should go and get some firewood. До свидания, papa!" He ran out the door, his ice skates swinging behind him, as his father yelled for him to come back inside.
When Victor finally got to the large lake that was frozen over by winter's kiss, he found no one else on the ice and began to skate. It was beautiful, and he could hear the wondrous melody he was skating to in his head in the silence. With every spin, jump, or step he made, however, he felt lonelier and lonelier. Soon, he stopped his skating and just started to glide, weightless and uninspired. There must be more to his life than this, right?
When Victor returned home, firewood and skates in hand, Yakov informed him of a trip he was to take. Yakov had to travel to a town the next day to gather some last minute supplies before a large blizzard hit.
That night, as a fierce wind blew through the village, Victor and Yakov sat in front of a fire when Victor asked Yakov a peculiar question.
"Papa... Why is it, even though I have so many friends and admirers, I feel so... Lonely?"
Yakov raised his eyebrow and scoffed. "Well, maybe it's because you do not have a lover. What about that nice girl who gave you a scarf? The one with the red hair?"
