Zara
Zara" I slowly opened my eyes to see Kaia, leaning on the edge of the pool for support. I had fallen asleep on the floor, I quickly got up and helped her out of the pool. I helped her out and laid her on the floor "I'm sorry" she whispered, her voice hoarse and dry. I took her blade out and cut my wrist a little, blood came out and I put it on her mouth.
Kaia took a little but when she was finished, she licked the wound and it healed. She looked like the normal Kaia again but still looked a little bit weak. I sat there leaning against the stone wall and she came and sat next to me. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry i didn't tell you and I'm sorry you've had to go through all of this" I stared down at the floor as she spoke " I understand if you don't forgive me" she said.
Silence.
"I need space, from everything, from you" I said. Kaia went quiet
"Anything you want" she whispered, hurt evident in her tone and her head down.
We sat there, next to each other but not touching each other, I wanted to be in her arms but I didn't trust her anymore and what's a relationship without trust. All because she lied, I almost got killed by her psycho ex lover. "I'll take you home" .
She got up with a little bit of a struggle "my body still needs time to heal a little bit more so we cannot teleport but we can go wait for Ian to come back at the house".
She said, I nodded. We started walking, there was a pathway out the cave and at the end there was a light, that came from outside. "Where are we?" I asked, "at the valleys and mountains of China"
I was in China, wow. Out of the cave, we stood on a small mountains that had a view of a big red, Chinese house. It looked beautiful from up here with a dam in front of it. "Wow" Kaia took my hand "let's go" I wanted to pull my hand away from her but I just let it go and let her hold my hand. We walked inside and it looked like a Chinese palace "young messiah" an old man who is a monk wearing an all white robe looking like thing came up to us.
"master Yang" the man bowed. "What brings you here siah ? Is there a problem?" He asked, looking worried.
"No yang, I needed to use the rising water up in the mountains and I cannot teleport back because my body is still weak. I could really use your famous herb tea right now to help me heal" Kaia said .
"I will make it for you as soon as possible siah . May I ask, who is the beautiful young lady?" He said
"this is Zara Santiago, my mate" she said. I gave the man a small smile and he smiled back and introduced himself.
"Lee and the others have gone to the mountains for training, hopefully they will be back before you leave. You won't believe how much she has grown" the man said to Kaia before he left to go make tea. "What is this place to you?" I asked as we walked up the stairs and entered a nice big room.
"Ian and I grew up here, all of the assassins. This is where we were taught how to fight, meditate and use our powers. Yang was my fathers best friend, this place was like school for us. Our parents would teleport us here and leave us with yang all day, he was our teacher who taught us how to fight and use the power of the weapons our parents pass on to us. My mother passed her blades and knives down to me and I am now the master at fighting with those two weapons. Father passed his sword down to Ian and so the parents of the other assassins did the same, then Yang taught us how to use them and become assassins. We finish training at the age of thirteen, we are then a part of the Creed" she said.
We were on the bed, Kaia was leaning against the headboard of the bed while I sat with my legs closed on the other side of the bed looking at her.
"What do you do as an Assassin? I mean I know you kill people but why do you kill them" I asked, curiosity taking over my brain.
"We kill those who deserve the punishment death, those who use their power to kill innocents. There are dark things in this world, dark things that go beyond the power of humans, our job is to make sure darkness never reveals itself, or all hell would break loose" she said. "What do you mean, beyond the power of humans" I asked.
"I mean there are people on earth disguised as humans who come from other planets, but those people have an evil mind and heart and want to do evil things to the world, the reason why the world is unaware of this is because we kill them before they finish what they started. We don't do what we do just cause we want to do it, we do it so we can protect the ones we love" Kaia answered.
A knock on the door
"come in"
the door opened and a young girl with black hair who looked like she was eleven or twelve walked in, she saw Kaia and her face lit up
"Kaia!" She ran to her and hugged her
"Hey Lee" Kaia
"I missed you" the girl said
"I missed you too"
"who are you?" She said looking at me up and down "I'm Zara, Kaia's friend" I said. "Kaia isn't looking at you like a friend though" the girl said. Kaia smiled
"I see youre a master at observing things now aren't you" Kaia said to the girl, she smiled
"master Yang has been teaching us" she said "well Yang also told me that you got into a fight with one of the other kids last week and that you broke his nose. Is that true?" She looked down at the floor with a frown, she was the cutest. "He was making fun of me" she mumbled. "maybe he was being mean to you cause he likes you" I said, she looked up at me with a surprised look on her face "Zara's right. You know boys are like that" Kaia said backing me up. She started to smile again "well, he is kind of cute" she said. Kaia and I laughed and she started blushing.
"Lee!" The old man Yang called out from outside "coming! I've got to go, bye Kaia, bye pretty lady" she said running off out of the room "bye Lee" Kaia said.
"Who is the young girl?" I asked once we were alone again "her name is Lee, I found her in the streets of South Africa when she was seven years old, she was homeless. Her family died when she was six and she had no other family, she' was supernatural but she didn't know how to use her powers, so I brought her here" Kaia said.
My heart warmed up at what she had just told me. Ian appeared in the room
"get her home" Kaia said to him, he nodded.
I got up and looked at her "are you going to be okay?" I asked, really worried about her. Yang walked in holding the tray with tea on it
"I'll be fine, I just need some of Yangs tea" she said, her eyes had sadness behind them and she was trying to not show it but I could see it. I nodded my head but I didn't take my eyes away from her and she didn't take hers away from mine either, it was like we had to let go but we didn't want to.
"Goodbye Zara" she said "bye Kaia" I whispered, I seemed to have lost my voice. Darkness.
