I sighed and sat down on the bench. It worked. The empathy link actually worked.

"Well, I sure hope he makes it," I sighed.

Hermes smiled at me. "He will. He'll get you freed, and trust me, I will definitely be one of the gods voting for your release. You deserve love and freedom too."

"I can't thank you enough Hermes. I mean... I just... I have no words for how thankful I am for at least an opportunity... To be free... To see Leo again I..." I stuttered.

"You don't have to say thank you," he said. "Honestly, I enjoy your company. It'd be easier to visit you if you didn't live on a nonexistent island," he paused. "But sadly, I must call this visit to an end. I have duties."

Yesssss... You do. Demeter needsss those flowerssss delivered ASSSSSAP, Martha said.

I smiled. "Thank you for everything, Hermes. Is there anything I can get you before you go?"

"Nothing, thank you. But I would warn you to avert your eyes," he said.

I turned away, and in a flash, I was once again alone on my island.

"Please Leo," I whispered. "You have to do this. I miss you."

---Percy---

Honestly, I was shocked Leo picked me for that quest.

At the time, I was sitting on the edge of the dock with Annabeth, as our 2 year anniversary of being together. I made her a special, homemade meal of PB&J, pop chips, Coke straight from the can, and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert. It was weird having our anniversary on my eighteenth birthday, but I couldn't ask for anything better.

She poked my cheek to get my attention. "What are you thinking about, Seaweed Brain?"

I glanced over at her, her blonde hair shining in the sunset light, and I smiled. "What do you think, Wise Girl?"

"Hmmm... Food?"

I smiled. "Nope."

"If it isn't food I don't know what it could possibly be..." She teased.

I touched my forehead to hers. "Maybe now you can read my mind," I offered.

She closed her eyes. "Mmmm... I see... Is that... A person?"

I laughed. "Close, now guess what person."

"Can I have a hint?"

"Well, it's a girl. Technically a woman. She has golden blonde hair and gray eyes that remind me of the stormy sea. She is super smart, smarter than me I must admit. She's kept me alive multiple times since I met her. She's amazing... And beautiful as I'll get out. She's been with me through Tartarus and back, literally, and I love her more than anything in the world. Can you guess now?" I asked, looking at her perfect self.

"Maybe..." She said, closing the space between us.

I held her head in my hands, pulling her closer to me. I need this. I needed her. She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I around her waist. I wanted this moment to last forever.

Someone coughed behind us, and we quickly broke apart, our cheeks burning up.

"Sorry to interrupt..." Leo said, awkwardly fiddling with his twine. "But I kinda need to talk to Percy."

"Leo, not now, please, any time other than right now. I will talk to you as early in the morning as you need. Just not tonight," I pleaded. I wanted this night with Annabeth. And no, don't get nasty thoughts people. Jeez.
