The second the elevator reached Olympus, I was out the door, running as fast as my scrawny legs could take me to the throne room. The last time I was here, a year ago, the view took my breath away. Olympus is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. But sadly, I didn't have time to admire it this time.

I dashed past gorgeous gardens, accidentally knocked over a few minor gods, and disrupted a small concert in the amphitheater. But I didn't care. I had to get Calypso back, and this was my one chance.

Before I even took a breath, I was in the throne room, the gods and goddesses glowering down on me, a runt of a demigod here to ask of them yet another favor.

Piper and Percy came up behind me moments later, and bowed before Zeus, which I followed.

"What do you want, demigod?" Zeus asked, looking distracted.

"Lord Zeus, we are here to ask you to release Calypso from her island," I replied with shaky breath. "We believe she has done her time and should be able to be free."

"And why should we do that, Leo?" Hera asked sharply. "She was against us in the first war, what's to say she isn't plotting revenge against us now?"

"She's a sweet girl," Hermes noted. "I go and visit her every once in a while, and let me say she has learned her lesson. She's ready for change."

"Eh, I never liked her. Just keep her there," Dionysus grunted.

"She falls for every boy she meets. Who falls that many times, to be rejected every time?" Artemis scoffed. "I say when she doesn't fall in love she should be released. And then join our group of Hunters."

"We are pretty irresistible sis," Apollo smirked. "And I think she's done her time. She deserves to be free."

No. This- this wasn't supposed to happen. We were supposed to come her, get them to vote yes, have her teleport here or whatever the gods do, and be on our way to Camp Half-Blood, with me kissing her the whole way there... Well, that's how it was going to go in my head... But it seems like we wouldn't even make it to the part where they vote yes.

"Please, I have to see her again," I pleaded. "I love her more than anything in the world, and she's been done amazing this whole time."

"Love. That's the only reason. You make an irrational decision based on a feeling labeled 'love'. Well tell me this, Mr. Valdez, how do you know she still 'loves' you? She could have just played you, knowing you'd get her off her island, only to be free," Athena said.

My heart plummeted to my shoes. What is she was right? I mean, she kissed me and all, but she has been on that island for millennia... And she said she wanted to get rid of me at first but... I couldn't think like that. I just couldn't.

"I think my son has a valid point," my father, Hephaestus, pointed out. He didn't say anything more, sadly.

"What point?" Athena sighed. "There is no point he is trying to make! He is just trying to get us to release her because he claims he loves her! There is no logic, only emotion! If he gave a valid reason, for example, that she was in grave danger on her island, I would be in their side. But he has nothing like that. She is just using him."

"I agree with Athena," Hera sided. "Besides, the boy is almost as bad as his father."

"You listen here mother!" Hephaestus shouted. I felt bad for him, having that jerk as a mom. That means she's my grandma...

All the gods got into a bitter argument, not even on the subject at hand.

"GUYS!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Red, angry faces of the gods turned and faced me, the room dead silent. "This isn't about your immortal petty arguments. This is about releasing Calypso from her island. Not about me. Not about how I love her. This is about facing the fact that you all know she's done her time, and she is innocent, and she deserves to be released. So stop being stubborn, and wake up to reality! She's been nothing but good to you all! Now let's focus!"
