---Piper---
Why do I overthink things too much?
We were in the car driving to Manhattan, to convince the gods to free Calypso. Hands down the easiest quest to go on ever.
So why was I so jumpy?
It could've been the fact that Leo and Calypso could finally be together... Or maybe that I was worried that they wouldn't release her... Or maybe because this quest, though I was grateful for it, seemed incredibly easy. Too easy for my liking.
I just sat there, overthinking things as the hills rolled on bye, bringing us closer and closer to our destination that Argus was taking us to. I mean it was just too simple...
"Piper?" Percy asked, taking out his earphones. "You ok? You seem... I don't know, off I guess."
"I'm fine, I'm just..." I glanced over at Leo, who actually fell asleep for probably the first time in days. I lowered my voice a little. "I'm just afraid that... This is too easy."
Percy sighed, his green eyes full of worry. "That's exactly what I'm worried about."
Great, so I wasn't the only one. That reassured me.
I looked back over at Leo, sound asleep, his chest rising and falling in rhythm. He looked so... Peaceful. Not an expression you would ever guess to see on Leo. But as quick as it came, it went, and he woke up when we hit a bump.
He rubbed his eyes, then looked over at Percy. "How long was I out?" He asked, yawing.
"About a day, you missed the voting of the gods. We're headed back right now."
Leo panicked, but then realized it was a joke and laughed sarcastically. "Ha ha, very funny. But seriously, how long? I felt like I was sleeping for years."
"About an hour," I answered. "You aren't anxious at all Leo?"
He laughed half heartedly, changing the subject. "Let's go do this thing guys."
---
After what felt like ages of Leo telling Percy and I lame jokes or making sarcastic comments every single second, we finally made it to the Empire State Building.
And my, was it beautiful.
The second we stepped out of the car, Leo was marching through the front door. Percy and I quickly followed after him, but it didn't seem to do any good. He was just plowing through everybody.
He finally made it to the front desk, demanding that he go up to the 600th floor, but the man kept denying the fact that there was a 600th floor.
"Look," Percy snapped, slamming his hands on the desk. "I'm the savior if Olympus. Remember me? Well my buddy Leo here, he needs a meeting with the gods. So if you'd let us into that elevator, I would gladly appreciate it."
He stared at us, wide eyed, but nodded his head yes and let us go.
The elevator ride up was intense, due to the fact that Leo was freaking out about Calypso, and Percy was still unsettled about going on the quest in the first place. But the elevator music, though retro, did help ease it.
Leo tapped his foot on the floor anxiously until the door slowly slid open. Then he bolted toward the throne room.
And I could only pray this worked.
