Tell Her

Pearls POV
Ruby was busy with her homework. I looked to nothing and wasn't paying attention.
'What 'bout this?' Ruby asked, but I didn't hear it. I still don't know why I decided to help her today.
'Pearl?' Ruby looked at me but I didn't look back. Amethyst couldn't escape my mind.
'Pearl? Are you okay?'
What will she think of me? She said she wasn't mad, but I highly doubt that. I would be so pissed if I was her.
'Hey, P.' Ruby waved in front of my face. I looked up.
'Oh. I'm sorry.' I said, 'What did you say?'
'I asked if you were okay.'
I kept quiet for some seconds. 'Oh. Yes.' I said when I realized I haven't answered. There was a silence. Ruby looked at me. Why is it so hard to keep lying? I looked at my hands.
'Pearl?' Ruby asked, 'You can tell me everything, right?'
I softly nodded.
'Did something happen?' she asked and she tried to make eye contact. It took a couple seconds till I nodded. Ruby waited patiently till I said something.
'I've send nudes.' I almost whispered. Ruby didn't say anything, maybe because she was a bit surprised by what I said. I was incredibly embarrassed and I could cry every second.
'To who?' Ruby asked.
'Amethyst.'
'Oooh.' Ruby said like it isn't so bad anymore, 'Well,  eh.. What's the problem?'
'What's the..- What's the problem?' I asked, unbelievingly, 'She got incredibly mad at me. Which is understandable. She's right. It was.. I was stupid. She was at school. So many things could've happened.'
'But you did it to be nice, right?'
I looked at her, not understanding.
'Why did you send it?' she asked.
I kept quiet and raised my shoulders.
'Maybe because you know Amethyst likes to see you naked.'
I blushed madly. Ruby talks like it's the most normal thing in the world. She can talk about everything, because most of the time she just doesn't fully understand.
'She got really mad..'
'Because of some nudes?' Ruby asked unbelievingly. It took a while till I nodded.
'Well, it's not that bad, right?' she asked, 'I mean, you two like each other, right? What's so bad about a picture of your.. Your body.'
'Only my chest..'
'So what? You probably saw each other naked before, right?'
'Let's just continue math, Ruby.' I said softly.
Ruby kept quiet. 'Oh. Okay.'
I smiled softly and tried to focus on the homework. I couldn't.
'Hey P?' Ruby asked after a while.
'Yes, Ruby?'
'What's up?'
I kept quiet.
'You're acting so strange lately.'
I laughed softly. 'Everyone says that.' I said, 'I'm totally okay, Rube, really.'
Ruby didn't believe me. She closed her books and looked at me.
'Tell me.' she said.
I didn't answer.
'I know you for quite a long time now, P, tell me.'
I looked at my hands. 'I'm just really busy lately.' I said softly, 'Stressed. Not much sleep.' Ruby nodded softly.
'Amethyst is worried.' I said and I started to tear up, 'She came to me, like, five days ago or something. She wanted to talk but I got angry. But she only tried to help. I was only thinking about myself. I always do. I'm really egoistical, you know?' Tears rolled down my cheeks, 'I'm ruining everything between me and Amethyst. I'm going to ruin everything, Ruby, I'm not kidding, I'm going to ruin everything.' I was shaking and started crying with loud and long sobs. Ruby quickly put her arms around me.
'Don't be so silly.' she said softly, 'I'm sure everything will be okay.'
No, Ruby, because you don't know what the fuck I'm actually hiding.
'Amethyst and you are pretty cute together, you know?'
I didn't answer and sobbed onto her shoulder.
'Do you like Amethyst, Pearl?' she asked, 'Like-liking?'
I nodded and kept crying.
'Do you love her?'
'That's a stupid question. Of course I do.' I cried.
'Well then, what's the problem? What can be so wrong if you love her so much?'
I didn't answer again. Ruby softly caressed my head and shushed into my ear.
'Don't cry.' she whispered, 'Don't cry, that won't make things better. Everything will turn out well eventually.'
Pff. Sure. I looked at her and she wiped my tears away. I smiled weakly.
'Ruby?' I almost whispered.
'Yeah?'
'Please don't tell anyone.'
'What?'
'About the picture. When I cried and stuff.'
'Ooh. What about the others?'
'No. No one. Just forget, okay?'
'Okay.'
'I'm serious, Ruby, don't tell anyone.'
'I won't, P, I swear.'
'No Lapis. No Peridot. No Sapphire. No Amethyst.'
'No Sapphire..?'
'No.'
'Okay. I won't tell anyone.'
'Ruby, do you promise me you won't tell anyone?'
'Yes, Pearl, I won't tell anyone, believe me.'
