  Author's note
This chapter is gonna go more in depth in Betty and Chic's character's prefferences! I really enjoyed making it!

This morning was great. We all woke up really late because it was Saturday so we just ate some cereal and drank some hot cocoa.

We all decided we will stay home today because mom had a cold and Betty and I could hang and listen to music. We have never discussed music, she only knew I liked MCR from my drawings and unhealthy obsession with Frank and Gerard.

She told me to wait in her room.

She brought a huge box and slowly opened it. It was full of t-shirts. They were all either pink or... black. Dark Betty much?

"You know... I really like Pop-Punk and stuff like that... It just doesn't fit the image I'm faking. But seeing you with the My Chem shirt at school and no one bothering you made me felt good and I thought I should embrace it too..."

This image she's been faking has been doing more harm than good to my sister.

Maybe It's just my petty ass but I feel like Hal is the one who's stopped her from being herself.

I went though the shirts and was amazed with how many cool bands she liked.

C'mon, she had a Paramore shirt signed by Hayley!

"Hmm... maybe mom wouldn't mind some shopping"

She looked like she had a plan and I loved that look on her face.

Mom was ok with it and gave us each 200 bucks.

We took a bus to the nearest nicer mall because we weren't going to go to the Riverdale one because it only had some bootleg stores and thrift shops, and no, not the cool ones.

There was this one guy who kept staring at us. He looked in his 40s and I think he was in the gang Jug was in. Thinking about that, he did kinda have similar features to Jughead.

When we got to the mall, he looked like he wanted to say something but we had to leave.

We both got matching leather jackets from the way overpriced hipster thrift store and headed to the record shop. Betty told me she had 2 record players laying in the attic and she'd give one to me and we should start an vinyl collection.

We gave eachother 10 minutes and we both bought 5 albums.

  *My list was:

•Danger Days - My Chemical Romance
•A Fever You Can't Sweat Out - Panic! At The Disco
  •Entertainment - Waterparks
  •Drive North - SWMRS
•Parachutes - Frank Iero And The Patience

The stash of records looked great and I was so pumped to play them. I didn't show Betty my list untill we got home and she hasn't showed me hers either.

We gave a quick hello to mom and rushed to her room like small kids waiting to open their Christmas presents.

Her list was really cool and we found out there wasn't really anything new for each of us because we already knew and loved the other one's music taste.

  *Betty's list
  •After Laughter - Paramore
•Pretty. Odd - Panic! At The Disco
  •Folie a Deux - Fall Out Boy
  •Bleach - Nirvana
  •Hesitant Alien - Gerard Way

I was so ready for school. I only had this week left because I did really great so those two weeks were enough to prove I can graduate early.

Betty went to the drugstore and bought two boxes that looked like something for hair.

  It was hair dye.

I guess we're going all in. One was silver and the other two were very washed out greyish blue.

We went to the bathroom and placed her black record player with Pretty. Odd. on and started doing it.

It was really fun and we sat outside waiting for the dye to process.

Betty hesitated but took 2 joints out of her pocket.

  I really didn't want to.

But hell, I did want it. I've never smoked weed, I have only done jingle-jangle and xanax. I stopped the xans after Lil Peep died because I do fear death. A lot. Thank MCR for The Black Parade 'cause that album leveled down my fear.

Plus weed doesn't fuck you up and it's legal here.

With the joint between my fingers I walked around the garden, looked through the window and saw our mom doing that too.

The Coopers are less of a proper cookie cutter small town family than you'd think.

Hal's departure made the girls be themselves and enjoy more unconventional things.
