Cheyenne

I'm so glad that Alex decided to stay but, now what? What do we do with our lives?

I roll over and I notice that Alex is not on the other side. As I roll out of bed, I realize that his stuff is gone.

I wiggle down the stairs, ignoring my sleepy legs.

I enter the living room, full of condolence gifts and cards.

You know, from all the workers and customers and friends. I hear a knock at the door.

Could it be him coming back? I thought.

I head to the door at the time as one of our maids, Cecilia.

"It's alright, Cece, I got it." I smiled.

As I opened the door, I knew right away that it wasn't him.

It was my mother. Dark brown, gray hair, smiling, and in the flesh.

"Hey, how's my baby?" She said, grabbing my neck and pulling me into a hug.

She stroked my neck like she used to and suddenly, I felt homesick.

"Good, Mama. I missed you so much." I cried, throwing my arms around her.

Alex

I pulled up to the spot where Cheyenne told me to and I set the car in park. I inhale and exhale every minute or so and I feels like I'm releasing stress and tension. She was right. I thought.

I'm not sure why I brought my bags. I don't think I want to leave Cheyenne at all; she's my rock.

She does almost everything for me. She makes business deals when I'm sick, she puts on a good face in front of our customers and workers and best of all, she loves me.

And I love her too.

I put my Benz in reverse and head back to the mansion to see what's in store for us.
