N I N E T E E N- Excuse moi what?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Jasmine thought of the words 'some very important things', her mind was drawn immediately to the ostentatious expression of Ms Applegate, glaring down at her students using the tip of her hooked nose rather than her eyes.
What she didn't imagine was Heath Parker pressing his forehead against hers, emitting a sound suspiciously similar to that of a beast. 'Now this is why they called him the bad boy', Jasmine thought, 'because one look into those venomous eyes of his gave you temporary amnesia.'
"We need to talk." Heath's voice was lowered to a mere whisper.
She gulped.
He followed.
"Well?" Jasmine managed a squeak.
Heath was silent.
Jasmine tried again, but this time, no words came from her mouth.
"Mind if I ask you some questions?" Heath finally said, gritting his teeth. "Why do you keep looking at me?"
Wait...wait...hold on a minute...
Jasmine narrowed her eyes, fully broken free from Heath Parker's charm. Confusion was taken to another level when Heath Parker forcibly cornered Jasmine Winters in the boys' toilet and interrogated her with most insignificant questions. Who, living on the bloody face of the earth would dare to confront someone with a question like this? Some creep, Jasmine supposed. "I'm sorry?" She blinked. "Me? Looking at you?"
"Yes," said Heath, suddenly looking uncomfortable. "Wait...you were...looking at me...right?"
"What makes you think I would ever want to look at a prideful asshole like you?" Jasmine laughed. "I would never-"
"But what about the time when we were in Mr Zhou's class?" Heath intervened. "And at lunch?"
Fuck. Jasmine groaned so low that nobody but herself heard. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. "Erm...no," she lied, turning away to hide the expression on her face. She wasn't keen on giving it away. "I was admiring the poster behind you."
"Oh." Heath furrowed his brows in mock concern. "And you mean to tell me that 'Tessellation of shapes' is more interesting than I am?"
Pfft! Heath Parker? Interesting? Jasmine would have denied it on the spot if she had the choice to. Only, a suspicious voice in her head didn't seem to agree with that idea.
'Actually, Heath is really handsome, and I mean like...smoking hot.' The voice chirped. 'He's like...six-foot-two with majestic blond hair and icy blue eyes and a nice voice and a six pack...'-and the voice in Jasmine's head really had to shut up to avoid a planned concussion by their owner.
"Of course!" she replied, placing her hands on her hips. "In fact, I have never seen any poster in the entirety of this school that exceeded the colour and intricate patterns on that particular piece of laminated paper-"
"Lies." Heath cried in such a voice that he almost sounded upset. "You were looking at me!"
"And how do you know that?" Jasmine replied, trampling on the daydreams she was beginning to have- visions of what lay beneath the thin t-shirt of his. "Were you there to witness my looking at you every time or were you simply staring at me before I caught you doing so?"
Heath was lost for words.
He did nothing but stutter in reply.
Satisfied, Jasmine smiled and reached for her books until he grabbed her wrist, unwittingly pulling her towards him. "Some questions." His low voice quite literally seized the pumping of her heart. "I thought we made a deal about the toilet incident-"
