Today, Cas had her shift in the morning. It was Saturday. We decided to head there together.
"See you later Cas."
"Wait Nick. Don't you wanna see where I work?"
"Fine." Arial wouldn't be there. I at least didn't smell her scent. We entered the cafe. It was just like I remembered it to be. It was a homely place. I had liked it when I had come here before.
I had gone to the washroom. When I was going towards our table I had dashed into her.
"Cool."
"Just cool?"
"Okay this place is great. Happy?"
"Happy," she replied smiling. I couldn't help but smile back. I checked my watch and it was almost ten.
"I need to get going Cas."
"I wanted you to meet my new friend." In such matters she was a kid.
"Maybe next time." I smiled at her and started walking towards the supermarket.
On reaching, I saw that there were other kids as well.
"Hey bro!" One boy greeted me. "When did you join?"
"I'm not sure. Maybe a month ago."
"That's great! I'm Jackson," he said extending his hand forward.
"Nicholas." I didn't shake his hand so he retreated it back.
"Do you live in that house in the forest?"
"Yes." I wasn't interested in talking to him but you see I had no option.
"Isn't it like scary?"
"Scary...not at all." He was asking a freaking vampire if he's scared of anything.....funny.
"Don't you go to college?"
"No."
"Why?" This guy wasn't going to stop, was he?
"I graduated."
"No way dude. You look very young."
"Maybe I don't age," it just slipped from my mouth. Then I laughed, pretending like it was a joke.
"Don't tell me even your girlfriend is into all this, like vampires and stuff."
"I don't have one." Vampires ha...
"That's interesting. A hot guy like you is single." He came closer and whispered in my ear,"if the girls have to know this huh....I'll feel sad for you."
"I've seen one character already."
"Really! Who was it?"
"I think Lee..."
"Lexy?"
"I think so."
"She can be very irritating."
"Yeah. She sure was." This guy wasn't bad though. He seemed pretty friendly.
"In this town, only a handful of girls are good. If you wanna date someone give Arial a try. She's a great girl."
"Arial?" I asked raising one eyebrow.
"Yeah."
"How do you know? Did you date her?"
"No...no I didn't. I tried but she wasn't interested in me. Instead I'm dating her best friend, Sally."
"Hmm.."
"So like the three of us hang out sometimes. So I know she's a great girl. All guys want to date her but she never gives anyone a chance."
I smiled at him. This was something new. She swooned all the guys but paid no attention. I don't remember meeting such a girl. This girl is something....
"Talk to you later bro,"Jackson said as he went to customer who had just come.
Today was busier than usual. There were several customers and I was busy almost the entire time. I didn't speak to Jackson after that.
My shift was over so I decided to head home. While I was crossing the cafe, I saw Casey heading out as well.
"Hey Casey," I called her. She turned around. I saw a girl coming after her. Not her again....Casey caught her hand and bought her towards me. I didn't know she was there as I wasn't breathing. I had almost stopped breathing. Maybe once or twice in a day. It felt normal..
"Hey Nick! Meet Arial my friend and Arial meet Nicholas my brother."
"So that's your name," Arial wondered. "Nicholas," she said. I liked the way she pronounced it. It was different, unlike anyone else.
"You both have met before?" Cas asked. Of course she didn't know. She had not seen the waitress's face that day.
"Yeah. You remember the waitress I dashed into?" I asked her, some what glaring at her.
"Yeah....oh my god! I'm so sorry Nick. I didn't know."
"Its okay," I said.
"What's wrong?" Arial asked.
"Nothing. We should head home now," I said.
"Yeah," Cas agreed," See you tomorrow Arial."
"Bye," she replied. We headed towards the house. Casey kept on apologizing the entire way. I told her it was okay but she didn't stop. Guess Chris will have to handle her...
I went to my room. It was messy, considering it was mine. There were my CDs everywhere. Several books, magazines, clothes, etc where scattered. I didn't bother cleaning it as it will become the same in a day or two.
I laid down on my bed and thought about what Jackson had told me. Was she really like that? Jackson was good-looking. I'm sure he was popular at school yet she rejected him. I guess her standards are very high and no one can qualify for them.
To me she seemed like a combination of a sweet girl and don't mess with me kind of....
