After the ball, I was to drop Arial home. Chris and Cas had went a little while ago. John had left as well. I walked her to her house. She was silent the entire way.

Her hair had become a bit messy. My coat was wrapped around her, protecting her from the cold.

"You wanna come in," she asked me once we reached her house.

"Well...I think I should get going."

"Do you have a car?"

"No...but I can walk instead. It's a good exercise you know."

"No way. Just wait a minute." She went in the house and came back in a minute. "Here," she said giving me her car keys.

"No, I don't need it."

"Stop acting stupid Nicholas. You live far from here. And also I don't need my car tomorrow. You could get it in the morning."

"Fine." I finally gave in. She was concerned for my safety.

"Well I should get going then."

"Wait! Umm...I had a great time Nicholas. Thanks." I was foreign to all these things. I saw a pinkish shade adorn her face.

"Me too. Good night."

"Night." Then I got in the car and drove away.

Tonight was really good. My date was a beautiful girl. She was amazing. She was good at heart. Any guy would want to date her. Well, except me. I'm not one of them. I'm a vampire who craves for her blood. Tonight I didn't breath at all. If I breath in her presence, I will only regret it later on.

I wasn't expecting her to come without a date. At least ten boys might have asked her to it. I realized how my tie matched with her dress.

The next morning I had no work. I decided to drop Arial's car. I rang the door bell. It was almost ten by now.

"Hey!" Arial opened the door. Her hair was let down. She was wearing a cute blue colour cardigan with a pair of shorts. Her legs, though short, looked hot. I looked up and saw her blushing. Shit! She just saw me checking her out.

I cleared my throat. "Hi." She let me in. I gave her the keys and sat in the living room.

"Where's John?" I asked her when she came out with a mug of coffee.

"He's gone with his friends."

"Okay." I had the mug of coffee in my hand with no idea what to do with it.

"Don't you drink coffee?"

"Um...no I don't."

"What would you like to have then?"

"Nothing, thanks."

"What do you eat?"

"Sorry?"

"I have never seen you eating anything. Last night also you didn't touch anything at all. Not even the drinks."

"Well...I'm on a..strict diet."

"Its okay if you don't wanna tell. Just don't lie." Again! Again she caught me lying for God's sake.

"So...about the competition. When should we start practicing? We got only like two weeks."

"Whenever you want."

"How about 5 to 7 everyday?"

"Sounds good," I said.

"Arial, yesterday you said that it wasn't that. What did you mean?"

"Well...its nothing."

"Maybe it is something for me."

"Well...you know the ball was organized by my class. The winners were going to be declared yesterday itself. I don't know why it was changed."

I nodded my head. Why did they have to change it the last minute?

Then I left her house. It was easy to be around her. That is only if I didn't breathe. If I do, I don't know what will happen.

I had made plans to go hunting with Chris. Casey was busy with something so she wasn't going to join us.

"Nick, what's up? You seem lost," Chris said when we were walking deep into the forest. It was true. I was extremely quite. Whenever he asked me a question, I either nodded or have a small reply.

"Its nothing," I said looking at him. It looked like he was buying my lie. I was deep in thought. I was thinking about my life. It was almost the same from past so many years. Well not now. It was different. I had someone on my mind. I couldn't keep her out of my head. If Chris couldn't tell I was lying, how did she?

"Chris."

"Hmm.."

"Is it easy to tell if I'm lying or no?"

"Its the opposite Nick. Neither Casey nor I can tell that."

"Then how can she?" I didn't realise that I had said it out aloud.

"Who? That girl?"

"Yeah." I guess I can use some pep talk right now. Chris had always been good at it.

"She really can?" Chris asked in an amazed tone.

"Yeah. Do you know how it is possible?"

"Well, I'm not sure. There are few people who you can read easily. Maybe for others it isn't that easy. Mostly if you really know a person, you can tell. But that's not the case with you. That girl hardly knows you. On the other hand, I have know you for years. Yet I can't tell. I think you will have to find it for yourself."

Maybe he was right. I need to figure it out.
