"Mr. Cooke I want to leave the job," I told him. I was really bored now.

"Why?" he asked in a serious voice.

"I just don't want to," I told him.

"Nicholas!" I turned around and saw John.

"John."

"How are to doing?"

"Great actually," I said. "I was just heading home. You need some help?"

"Oh....yes. Come with me first," he said. I looked at Mr. Cooke and he nodded. At last I got rid of this job.

John took me to his house. We got in. I heard some scribbling sound.

"Arial?" John called out.

"Coming," Arial said.

In a minute she was down. She was a mess you could say. Her hair was tied in a messy bun. A pencil was placed on her ear. She was wearing leggings with a tank top. Does she not feel cold?

"Nicholas," she said on seeing me. I smiled at her and waved.

"What were you doing?" John asked.

"Math. Its so difficult," she said.

"Maybe I could help?" I offered. Actually I just wanted a reason to stay with her. I...just like to be around her.

"That'll be great," she said. She led me to her room. There were pages scattered everywhere. So many were just scribbled on.

She showed me the sums. They were quite easy. I started teaching her. At first she had no idea what I was talking about. I tried to simplify it for her. Finally after two hours she understood.

"Thank you so much," she said and hugged me. I placed a hand on her back. I was not a hug person. It kind of made me uncomfortable. But it was different with Arial. I wanted her warmth. Her touch 24/7. Sounds crazy, doesn't it?

John called Arial so she had gone down. My eyes feel on the pictures on her wall. Last time I didn't get to see th one turned upside down. I went towards it.

I flipped it. I was shocked after what I saw. How was it possible? No. Somethings not right. How?

My mind went crazy with all kind of thoughts. I was staring at the picture when Arial walked in.

"What are you looking at?" She came towards me and saw the picture.

"Nic, you alright?"

"Who is she? Do you know her?"

"I can't tell right now," she said. There was sadness in her voice.

"I need to know Arial," I raised my voice a bit.

"I can't let grandpa hear it," she said.

I took her hand. It was 7. I could take her out for an hour.

"John. We'll be back in an hour," I said.

"Okay. Be safe," he replied.

On the way out I grabbed my and her coat. I handed it to her. I took her to the back of the house. I saw around. There was no one.

I picked her up in bridal style.

"Nic," she said but I ignored her. I lol her to the forest with my vampire speed. It was way faster than walking.

I placed her down.

"Who. Is. She?" I asked her. In the picture, I saw the lady. Arial was standing by her side with another man. It was about five six years old.

"My mom," Arial said.

"I'm serious Arial," I said. A vampire's child in a vampire only. Not a human.

"I'm serious. She is my mother," she said. I saw tears running down her face.

"How's it possible?" I said very very softly.

"My dad was a human," she said. I stared at her.

"You heard that?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said. This was confusing. How did she hear it? I was too soft for her ears to catch it or know what it means. She went and sat on a stone.

"My mom met my dad in college. She fell for him and so did he. He proposed her one day. She loved him but she was a vampire. She didn't want to spoil his life. But their love was such that it didn't let them part from each other. Finally, my mom told him her reality. My dad accepted the fact that she was a vampire. They soon got married.

"Two years later I was born. We were a sweet happy family. My life turned upside down when I was ten. I saw my mom running at an impossible speed. I was young but I wasn't dumb. My mom was not ready to tell me anything. But I wasn't ready to give up. They told me several lies but I could tell they were lying.

"Finally one day they told me. My mom explained everything to me. I was confused. I had heard the word vampire before. But I was too small to know what it meant.

"When I was fifteen, dad was infected with some disease. It was incurable. I don't remember the name. My mom was afraid that she had to turn him. But then I had to leave. Otherwise he would kill me. My mom fed on humans. But I had her blood so it didn't affect her. My dad when newly turned would be out of his mind. My couldn't let me die. They left me at an orphanage and then John became my guardian."

I was shocked to hear this. I went and sat beside her. Her placed her head on my shoulder.

"I thought vampires could only feed on humans. I had once seen my mom feeding on a man. I asked her not to do it but she said that there was no other way. That's why I was shocked when you said you fed on humans. I don't even know where she is. Or if she has turned dad."

She was silent for a while. "How do you know her?" she asked. Should I tell her? I guess she has the right to know.

"She's here. I met her at the supermarket. She was buying fruits. She also warned us not to kill anyone in this town," I said.

"She's here?" she asked. I nodded my head.

"At least she should have met," Arial said and started crying. I held her as she cried.
