I was nervous. Honestly, I have never been nervous in my entire life. I had to go at Arial's in about an hour. What would I do? In which song would we dance?

I was currently in the super market. The day wasn't getting over. Every minute felt longer than usual. At last it was four. My shift was over. I had another hour to spend yet.

What do I do? Should I go early? Bad idea. I should go on time. I was contemplating on what to do when I saw a girl walking towards me.

"Hey handsome," Lexy said.

I ignored her. I didn't have the patience to deal with her.

"Why don't you talk to me? Is it because of that bitchy Arial? You even went to the ball with you."

"Stop. It," I said through clenched teeth.

"Well you know you can change your partner if you want to. I knew you did not want to perform with her, so I changed the competition a bit."

She was the one who made last minute changes.

"Well, I'm quite happy with her."

"No yo..." before she could complete, a boy came.

"Hey babe," he said putting his hand around her waist. "Who is this?"

"Well a new friend of mine."

"I'm not your friend. Excuse me please." I turned my back on them and started walking towards Arial's house.

I knocked on the door. There was no reply. I sat on the stairs waiting for her to come. I saw a chart from the other night. It was the one I had liked. What was it doing here? I saw down and just stared at the name written below.

Arial

I couldn't believe it. She drew so well. Why didn't she tell me it was her? She seemed uneasy when I asked who the artist was. But I just brushed it away.

I heard the sound of footsteps coming. I turned around and saw her coming. She was wearing a coat and her hair was dripping with water.

"Oh..hey," she said when she saw me.

"Hi."

She opened the door and went in. Arial removed her coat and so did I. She was wearing a grey full sleeve shirt with blue jeans.

"Nicholas, you are early," she stated.

"Yeah. I didn't have anything to do."

"Okay. So I was thinking that maybe my friend could help us with the dance. What's say?"

"Sure. Who is it?"

"Sally. She's my best friend and a good dancer. I'll tell her to come."

She went inside to call Sally. If only she knew how well I danced.

"She'll be here in five," Arial said. She looked happy. Like really happy.

After about three minutes the front door opened. I turned around and saw Jackson's date who I guessed was Sally.

"Hey girl!" She greeted Arial.

"Hello there hot guy," she said to me. I smiled back. What was with all girls? Except Arial of course. All girls fell for my looks. Arial was indifferent to it.

"Lets start. Firstly, Arial go and wear something different. You can't dance in jeans."

"Like?" Arial asked completely confused.

"I'll get it," saying that Sally ran upstairs. Arial gave me a confused look and went on top.

I heard them talking in low voices.

"I'm not wearing...that," I heard Arial say.

"Oh come on babe. You have to."

"No Sally. It's so cold first of all. And I don't wanna to wear it in front of him. It'll look like I'm...desperate."

"Well it isn't cold. And no he won't think like that. I don't know him but I can tell. He ain't like other guys." Today people simply wore a coat. Guess, it wasn't so cold after all.

"You are wearing this or else I'm not gonna teach."

After a while, Arial said,"Fine."

After five minutes they came down. I couldn't see what Arial was wearing as she was standing behind Sally.

As Sally moved aside, my eyes fell on Arial. She looked...hot. She was wearing a blue colour shirt with white shorts. Her legs were on complete display for me. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was standing with her head down. A pink shade adored her face.

She looked up and our eyes met. I smiled at her. She felt a bit at easy by my gesture.

"Lets get started," Sally chirped.

She played a song which I didn't know. It wasn't a slow one though. I kind of liked it. Then she told both of us to face each other and stand.

No way can I touch her. What was I to do? I can't make them suspicious of me.

"Okay guys, in this dance you don't have to actually touch each other. But you act like you are. Remember it has to be gentle and flawless."

I was thankful to Sally. I didn't have to touch her. She gave us simple steps to do. Arial wasn't a great dancer at all. She kept stumbling and losing balance. Her expressions were adorable and pictured pure innocence.

We were done with one-fourth of the song already. Sally was going out for a week so she asked us to practice everyday, especially Arial. It was true. She needed lots of practice.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Yeah. See ya." I then headed towards my house. It was already dark. It was raining. I saw several people heading towards their houses. They did not like this rain. Well there were some who did.

I liked rain when I was small. It was a mystery for me when I was small as to how water fell from the sky. My mom explained it to me but yet I asked her over and over again. It sounded fascinating. Those days were great.

With this in my mind, I reached home.
