Hola my fellow readers. Sorry for not posting this chapter on Monday like I usually try to do. But Monday was quite the busy and eventful day for me so I had no time to share anything. But here's the new chapter and I hope you enjoy it!

| Chapter 6- Laney |

Whoever said life is fair obviously didn't get stabbed in the back with their own knife. I mean, how would I know that the trust I gave Daniel would lead to me reuniting with the one guy who I fell out of a friendship with?

Sure, I couldn't entirely blame Daniel either. I knew the rumors but thought they were just rumors spread around by haters. I mean, why would a sweet and caring guy be caught selling drugs? Especially someone famous? That stuff would be worldwide news. But I guess he was better at hiding it.

Now here I stood, with light jean shorts, a red sweetheart shirt, strappy silver sandals, a wide-brimmed sun hat, and large sunglasses. I looked like a typical tourist, which I dreaded seeing as it was my home turf, with my large white suitcases next to me.

I was waiting for Jace to arrive and we could finally board our plane to who knows where. If it were up to me, I'd be locked in my room at my penthouse and not be here. I didn't need to leave. However, Donovan personally threatened to cut me off so I had no choice but to comply with his wishes.

I glared down at my luggages, my lips downturned when I heard the clearing of a throat. I turned and saw Jace standing with his own duffle bag strung across his broad shoulders. He was wearing khaki colored shorts with a pale blue shirt and tennis shoes. He wore black aviators over his eyes and his blonde hair tousled around as if he combed his fingers through it continuously.

"Ready to go?" he asked and I scowled at him.

"I don't even wanna go," I spat and he sighed, approaching me to talk in a hushed whisper.

"I don't care right now Laney. It's your own fault that you and I are in this situation," he told me and I felt the urge to slap him.

"No it's not," I hissed before I plastered on a fake smile just as a group of friends walked by us in excited tones.

"Yes it is. And we could stand here all day arguing about it but we have a plane to catch so let's go," he simply replied while grabbing a couple of my luggages and dragging it with him to the security scanner that would scan our luggage.

I stared with an open mouth before closing it and picking up the remaining luggage and tailing after him. If he thought this conversation was over, he had another thing coming. I was not entirely at fault here. I was tricked and manipulated.

When we took a seat in the waiting area, I grumbled. "Why not just take a private jet?" I huffed and Jace sighed.

"Because we are normal citizens of America. Not someone famous," he replied in a hushed tone.

"Well you aren't famous Jace. I am," I spat in hopes to hurt him so he can cancel this whole thing. He had no right to accept in the first place. But if my words stung him, he didn't show it. He simply tapped his glasses down a little and looked at me with a raised brow, his blue eyes calculating.
