Nik carried her to his truck, but he didn't set her down in the passenger seat. He laid her down in his truck with her feet tucked under her, and carefully shut the door. He went around the front of the truck, opened the door and gently picked her head up and laid it in his lap. He was starting to care for her. She'd been in town for a month and a half, but wanted to settle in before starting her job. He started driving to his ranch. he was halfway there when Felicity moaned, "You're okay Felicity. You're going to be okay." She settled down right away, but didn't wake up, which was terrifying him. He pulled up in front of the house where he lived instead of the cabin where she was staying. He got out of the truck , shut the door and walked around to the other side. He pulled open the other door and slowly lifted her out. Slowly he carried her into the house, and then into a guest bedroom.

He carefully laid her down, and went to the bathroom to get a towel and a bowl of cool water, when he reached the doorway she cried out. " No! Please, don't!" He rushed back to her side, and touched her arm and she quieted down again. She sighed and slowly opened her eyes, while Nik watched her. She looked at Nik. "What - - what happened?" she asked. Nik reached out and gently picked up her hand. You were getting ready to go get my food, stood up and fainted. you hit your head pretty hard." As soon as he said that last part, she started to feel a sharp pain pounding in her head. " Ouch." Nik started to get up. She grabbed his hand, " Please don't leave me alone. I don't want to be left alone right now." Nik hesitated for a second . Felicity looked scared. " Please Nik? I know we've only been seeing each other for a couple of weeks , but can you just hold me for right now?" Nik sat on the bed and pulled her close. Her head rested on his chest, and he pulled her closer. " I called my friend to come over and check on you. I hope you don't mind." That was when he noticed the heat coming from her. he then noticed when she didn't answer that she was soundly asleep.

He  instantly thought that she was exhausted. He noticed the dark circles under her eyes. gently he laid her head down on the pillow, and walked into the bathroom to get the bowl of water and towel. He walked back into the bedroom, and sat on the bed again. he dipped the towel into the cold water, rung it out and put it on her forehead. He saw that she was shivering. Alec Russo stepped into the room. " You must have been occupied. I called out for you, and you didn't answer." Alec said. Nik looked up at him, and said, "I'm sorry. I'm just really worried about Felicity here. I just noticed that she has a fever. I am not sure how bad it is. She is shivering uncontrollably  though. I forgot to tell you she's pregnant." Alec looked at him. " You had Drew call me and tell me, did you forget that?" Alec asked. " Yeah, sorry. I'm just really worried about her. We just started seeing each other a couple of weeks ago. Nik said. Alec looked at Felicity. " Has she woken up at all?" " Yeah, she was awake for about five minutes. Asked me to stay and hold her, because she didn't want to be alone. I tried waking her up again, but I couldn't." Alec nodded. " I'll look at her." Alec walked over to the bed, and sat down. He put his medical bag down beside him, and pulled out a thermometer. " She has a temperature of a hundred and two point five. Which will not hurt her or the baby unless the fever gets higher. Keep doing the cold clothes, and try getting fluids into her." Nik nodded.

He would do everything he needed to do. " I'm going to check on the baby now, so I'm going to lift her shirt up. I will want to see her when she is better, so we can do a sonogram to check her baby out. Do you happen to know how far along she is?" Alec asked. " Yes, she's three months." Alec looked right at Nik. " Did you say three months?" " Yes," Nik said looking puzzled. " Why do you ask?" " She's bigger than most pregnant woman at three months." " Oh." "Keep doing what you're doing, I'll see myself out. Bye, Nik." Nik watched him leave. " Bye, Alec."
