A couple of weeks later in the cabin on Nik's land, Felicity was in the nursery that Nik had painted. Felicity had not had a lot of sleep last night or today, the babies were extremely fussy and she was about ready for some peace and quiet. She did not hear Nik walk into the house or the room until he spoke. " Do you need some help?" Felicity turned to look at him. " I don't know what to do, Nik. They won't stop crying." Nik stared at her, " Did you get any sleep last night? Or any sleep today for that matter?" he asked. " Not really." she said. While he took Jordan and Allyssa out of her arms. " I'll take them over to the main house, while you get some much needed sleep." Felicity looked at the babies who had now quieted down. " I would love to catch up on some sleep. But are you sure you want to help?" " I am sure, you look like you are about ready to crash and burn. get to bed and rest, but when you get up, come to the main house. Dress nice. I'm making dinner." Nik said with a smile, and grabbed the diaper bag and walked out the door.
About five hours later, Felicity walked into the main house. " Hello?" She got no answer, but then saw red rose petals on the ground and followed them to the kitchen. The first thing she saw was the nice looking table with a white table cloth covering it. Nice wine glasses and everything else she could think of. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Nik, though. He was looking very handsome in his deep blue dress shirt. " What's going on?" She looked around. Nik came over and gently took her elbow, and led her over to the table. He poured wine and also served them their dinner. " So, what is going on, Nik?" Felicity asked halfway through dinner. Nik looked at her, then told her he had a question to ask her. " What question would that be? --" A wail stopped her from finishing what she was going to say. " I'll go get her." She started to walk to the other room when the little one quieted down. " Never mind, what were you going to say? " Felicity asked. Nik looked at Felicity and smiled at her. He started walking toward her slowly, " I have something to ask you, so just listen, okay?" She nodded and said, " Okay." Nik took a deep breath and started, " The day you bumped into me, everything changed. I was so messed up from the war, it wasn't funny. I was honestly considering taking my own life. " Felicity gasped at that. " But you changed that. I realized that I really wanted to know you better. You and Allyssa and Jordan are the, and I honestly mean the best thing that has happened to me, ever. And I love you so much."
He got closer to her, and knelt down on one knee in front of her. Felicity put a hand to her mouth. Nik smiled at her and took her free hand in his. " Felicity Marie Jones. Will you marry me?" She nodded. " Yes, Nik! Yes, I will marry you!" Nik pulled out a blue jewelry box, and opened it. Inside was a magnificent sapphire and diamond ring. He took it out of the box and put it on her finger. " It's beautiful, Nik. I love it! But -- I love you more." And he sealed it more with a kiss.
