Okay. So, before you read this, just know that I first wrote this after watching the Christmas episode and I had this great idea concerning your ships from the last book! But then when I went back to watching the episode that way I could finish the chapter and finally upload it, I can't find it anywhere. So here is a mix between Christmas and...sadness. Enjoy!
Chapter 18 - The Most Awkward of the Ages
The next day had finally rolled around as the small friend group gathered inside the student lounge.
"Okay, Veronica, it's your turn." The host, Kevin, nodded as he handed her the small gift.
"Hm.." the raven observed it before opening the envelope. "...oh, a gift certificate for a couples massage." She announced awkwardly as her eyes trailed over to her ex-boyfriend Archie. He raised his brows in interest as Josie moved uncomfortably in her seat.
"You can go with Betty.." she blurted. "..or your mom?"
"Or I can go with you mom if you want." Reggie shrugged.
"Thanks, Josie." Veronica smiled at the girl sadly.
"Dear God, can we get this torture over with?" Cheryl groaned loudly.
"Betty, you're up." Kevin rolled his eyes at the red head before looking at the blonde.
Betty observed the gift on her lap with a smile. "I think I could guess who picked my name based on these wrapping skills." She looked to Archie and he returned the smile gladly. Betty unwrapped her gift in excitement as she threw the paper to her side. "Archie..." she dragged out in awe.
"My dad and I were cleaning out the garage and I found it." He grinned.
"The Swiss Family Robinson?" Veronica questioned as she looked at the child's book Archie gave as a gift.
"Oh I remember that. That was the old read-along record we used to listen to when we were what? Five?" Macie smiled at the two with a small chuckle.
Kevin handed the strawberry blonde the last gift on the table with agony dripping down his cheeks. "Macie you're next, and mercifully last." He announced and a louder groan escaped Cheryl's lips. Macie had gotten more and more anxious as she unwrapped it, feeling Jughead's eyes on her. Opening the box and pulling the piece of fabric out, she'd noticed it was the jacket she'd been eyeing for weeks.
"I remember you talking about wanting to get it, but you didn't have enough money, so..." Reggie spoke up and the girl looked at him in confusion.
