" Some would look into his eyes and see darkness...but she knew better.
She could see that he carried a storm within his bones, one that contained chaos and calmness.
Look too closely and you could see the lightning peering through his veins.

Chapter 28 - Loose Ends Tied
The events of the night before kept replaying in the girl's head — sinking the car, throwing the phone in the water, the body — so much so she couldn't get any sleep or pay attention in classes. Just flashbacks at random times like it was a sequence the audience could see through only pictures. He was gray and starting to deteriorate, he smelled of his physical state and she couldn't stand it any longer. Macie hurried over to the bathroom. She pushed through the girl's crowding and rushed into one of the stalls. She hunched over and the liquid burst from her throat and into the toilet. A groan escaped her lips as she fell further down to the floor and she slid her back against the stall wall.
"Hey, Macie.." Cheryl's soft voice called from the doorway of the stall. Macies green eyes looked up at her with pure exhaustion. "..you doing okay?" The strawberry blonde nodded. Cheryl left for a moment to get a paper towel, damped it in water, and bent down beside the girl. She wiped her mouth lightly and smiled. "You had some vomit on the corner of your mouth."
"Thanks." Macie sighed. She flushed the toilet and leaned back against the stall.
"If you need anything, you can always talk to me." She offered with a hand on Macies bicep. It slowly slid down to her forearm and she nodded awkwardly.
"Thanks, Cheryl, but I don't want to bother you with my proble—"
"— Not possible, M! I am here to help." Cheryl gave her a warm smile before standing up. She dug through her bag and pulled out a stick of gum. She extended her hand out to the girl and Macie gladly took it with a smile. "Anything at all, you've got my number." With that, she walked out.
Macie stood up and rinsed out her mouth before starting to chew the gum. She walked out the bathroom with a soft groan and begun her descent toward the next class. Halfway there, she'd felt an arm go around her torso and spin her around. She let out a small sequel then came face to face with Reggie.
"Hey." He smiled.
"Hey, Reg. I was actually meaning to talk to you.." she weakly lifted the edges of her lips.
"Well I'm all ears. What's up?" His eyes seemed too bright, his smile too genuine, his dimples too evident. She couldn't tell him that she was going to try to get back with Jughead. At least not now. "Macie? You okay?" He called lowly.
"Yeah yeah." She nodded, avoiding eye contact. "You just.. you look good today." She complimented instead.
His smile grew, "you think so?" Reggie tugged on the edges of his jacket to fix it slightly. "I wasn't really sure about the jacket, but —" he glanced at her for a moment and his entire expression changed. "Are you okay? You look tired." She mustered as much of feign contentment as she could and nodded. "Mace, babe, it's me. If you want, we can ditch the rest of the day. We can get some lunch. Just hang out, y'know?"
