*{MULDERS POV}*

I could hardly believe my eyes. My partner, who had survived countless dangerous situations was in the hospital, hooked to several machines ; some of which I didn't know the purpose of. And all I could do was sit beside her, watching her breath surge in and out of her lungs.

It hurt so much to see her like this, but I was going to stay in this room until she became better. She needed me and I needed her now more than ever.

Scully opened her eyes quickly and without warning. Her skin was pale, and, she was silent, staring straight in front of her.

"Dana, are you okay? I've missed you, Dana. I really have- so if you can hear me right now, I just want you to know that I'll be here until you get better. And I'm praying you will," I whispered, feeling my voice crack.

"Mulder, I'm here, but I can't move. I'm... paralyzed. That's what it feels like, at least. Please, help me. It hurts so damn much," Scully whimpered, tears streaming from her eyes.

"We will, Dana. I promise," I said, forcing myself to not cry. I had to stay strong for her.

"Wait, Mulder, I was awake this whole time. N-not exactly awake, but I was in pain. And I wasn't in the hospital. I was in a place filled with flowers and trees. It was moving fast, but I couldn't move at all, and then all of a sudden, it was raining," Scully babbled quickly without pause in between her words.

"Woah, Dana, calm down. We can work this out together, if you just start from the beginning, slowly," I said in a calming voice.

She was worrying me so much, but I couldn't let that show. I just needed to hear what she experienced from start to finish, but I knew it wasn't going to be that easy.

"Fox, I can't. I just can't," Scully said, then started sobbing uncontrollably.

I moved my body closer to hers, reaching to hug her but she pulled me away.

"It's okay, Dana. I'm not mad at you, I never have been. I'm just worried about you. I love you," I said in a soft voice, not wanting her to feel as if I was angry in some way.

Dana didn't say a word after that, she just laid there, hand rested against her eyes, sobbing.

After a few minutes, I waited until her sobs died down a bit and reached towards her body to hug her. This time she didn't pull away.

She just continued crying in my arms, as I tried my best not to squeeze her chest too tight in case it either hurt her or pulled the machines that were hooked to her out.

Hello lovelies! Hope you enjoyed the new chapter of my book. This chapter had mostly msr stuff, but the next chapter there should be more developments in the storyline. I also removed the chapter tilted black and white because I felt like that chapter had nothing to do with the story whatsoever. It was a little unnecessary as well. Have a great day/night! 😘💖
