Skinner didn't know what was happening to Scully, mainly because he was engrossed in the weekly newspaper.
But when he heard her whimper followed by a loud thump, he looked up only to see Scully lying on the floor, her gold cross necklace still on her neck but hanging next to her left shoulder.
A stream of crimson blood came out of her nose, and dripped all the way down to her chin. The man who was speaking to Scully earlier was in disbelief, but he took action quickly.
'We need a nurse in room 102 immediately!", He called worridley, hoping that a nurse or a doctor would hear.
A few doctors rolled a stretcher into the room, and Skinner helped lift Scully's limp body onto the stretcher.
They rolled Scully's stretcher into the adjacent hospital room, hooking her up on an oxygen tank and fluids. Although she was breathing, it was very shallow and was barley heard.
Skinner left the room and then went back to inform him what was happening.
"Mulder, it's alright - everything's taken care of, and it's alright," Skinner calmly told Mulder.
"What do you mean, everything's all right? Scully passed out, for crying out loud!" Mulder said, his voice cracked annoyingly.
"Mulder, look. I don't know anything about Scully's condition, and I frankly don't know anything about yours," Skinner frowned, using hand gestures to signify his annoyance.
"Okay, okay. Just... relax. We've all just had a rough day, and I'd like to get some rest," Mulder replied softly, resting his hands against his chest.
"Umm, sir - we need you in the room next door," A loud voice echoed into the room Skinner and Mulder were in.
