*Nicola's pov*
The last class seemed to take forever but finally we are dismissed.
"Hey" I jump a little as arm wraps around my shoulders.
"Jonah!?" I slap him and push him away
"How ya going Nic?" He chuckles
"I'm bored and tired please get me out of this place" I groan and put my head on his shoulder
"Let's go out for dinner and trick people into thinking it's your birthday so we get free cake" he winks and I giggle
"Let me get into some nice clothes. You need to get in some nice clothes as well" I push him and he nods
"I will pick you up at 6" he smiles and then turns running off
I get back to my dorm and start getting ready for the dinner. I grab my white jacket and a small singlet black top with some high waisted black jeans. I straighten my hair and pull in some black boots.

I look at the time and it was finally 6. I run out leaving a note for Christina and then I see Jonah standing in his usual clothes

"You really wanted to look nice didn't you" he chuckles
"Well it's my birthday" I wink at him and he smiles
"Let's get going" he jumps into his car and I climb in as well
We talk about everything on the way to the restaurant and then he helps me out of the car. We walk in and then he sits down and the waitress comes over and sends him a flirty wink.
"What would you like?" She flips her hair and sticks out her chest
I hold back the urge to vomit and Jonah sends me a smirk
"A tall glass of you" he licks his lips which to be honest was sexy
"I can arrange that" the waitress winks and turns to me making sure to wave her butt in his face.
He makes vomiting faces and looks at me uncomfortably. I start gigging and the girl frowns
"What do you want?" She sighs and pushes a hair behind her ear
"A large chips" I smile and send Jonah a sneaky wink
He raises his eyes brows at me and the waitress scoffs.
"You're a little hungry" she pulls a face and I feel my blood boil
"And can I also have some fucking respect from you in a tall glass please?" I snarl and her eyes grow wide
Jonah's eyes were twice the size of hers and he makes a shut up look.
"Excuse me?" She crosses her arms
"A tall glass of fucking respect" I roll my eyes and Jonah lets out a little laugh
"Watch your language" She snarls
"How about watch yourself and don't flirt with my boyfriend" the last word slips out and Jonah smirks
"Boyfriend? Ha like he would ever date you" she smirks and turns back to Jonah
"I would like a different waiter thanks" Jonah looks down at the table
"Why hun?" She lifts his chin
"Don't touch him" I stand up and the whole restaurant goes quiet and their eyes burn holes into my skin
"Or what?" She pushes me and I hear people gasp
"VANESSA!" A man in a suit comes charging forward
"Yes boss?" She grows shy
"You can't touch customers!" He snarls and She flinches
"It's my birthday!" I start fake crying and Jonah stand up pulling me to his chest
"Hey it's okay Nicola" he murmurs rubbing my back
"I am so sorry for the way she acted ma'am I will Get you a cake for your birthday. I hope you have a good night" the man nods and smiles before dragging Vanessa away and waving at another waiter to come over to us
Jonah kisses my forehead and I smile at him before we sit down.
"I am so sorry for that. Wha would you two like today? It's on the house" The waiter smiles
"A large chips to share and then a smoothie with two straws" Jonah smiles
"Is that all?" The waiter smiles
"Yes thank you" I nod and wipe a tear off my cheek
The waiter walks away and Jonah turns to me
"Are you okay!" His hand grabs mine on the table
"Of course. I'm a master at calling in my tears JoJo" I giggle and Jonah's jaw drops
"Holy shit Nic...you are a master" he high fives me and then our food arrives
"Thank you" I send the waiter a smile and he nods before placing a smoothie down
We start eating the chips and then we finally finish after talking as well. All the sudden the man in the suit, Vanessa and then multiple other waiters and waitresses come over with a cake. They start singing happy birthday and everyone in the restaurant joins in. I was staring at Jonah with a wide smile on my face. They finally stop and leave the cake on our table. IT WAS MASSIVE. It was a chocolate cake dripping in chocolate syrup with a happy birthday Stick in it.
"Jonah you are amazing!" I stand up and tackle him in a hug
"Anything for you to have a good day Nic" he laughs
We ask to have it put in a take away container and then we go out for a walk. We somehow end up at a park and we sit on a bench and start eating the cake.
"Why did you move here?" Jonah breaks the silence
I stare at the cake and then I take a deep breath.
"I...Olivia and I...didn't like our parents no one really did....but one day I told them we were leaving and then I flew out here with Olivia...I signed up for college because I wanted to get a degree in music and everything and I got Olivia into online school because she doesn't like going to new schools because she has anxiety" I mumble
"Why wouldn't you tell me?" Jonah puts a supportive hand on my shoulder
"I didn't want to throw everything about my childhood at you on the first day Jo" I let out a laugh
"Well you and I are best friends now. You can tell me anything and everything I will always listen Nic" he ruffles my hair and I giggle slapping his hand away
I grab a handful of cake and shove it into his face
"NICOLA!" He yells and stands up
He grabs a massive handful of cake and I start running. I climb up the playground and then I use my monkey skills and climb onto the top of a spider web playground thing. I sit on the little dome and Jonah was staring at me with wide eyes.
"Nicola be careful!" He starts running towards me
I let out a laugh but then I start to slip
"JONAH" I let out a little cry and I grab onto the edge of the dome and my legs swing helplessly in the air
"I will catch you Nicola" Jonahs voice seemed so far away
"I can't do it" I start crying hysterically
"Nic I promise I won't let you get hurt" Jonah croons calming me instantly
"Please don't let me fall" I whisper
"I won't Nicola" he murmurs
I let go and tears still stream down my cheeks. I brace for the impact of the ground but instead I'm caught.
"It's okay Nic" he whispers into my hair as I sob into his chest
"Thank you so much" I sob and he laughs
"It's okay Nic..I wouldn't let you fall ever" he kisses the top of my head and then shoves the cake into my face
"JONAH!" I yell and try to get it out of my eyes
"Here I will get it" he laughs
His hands press to both of my cheeks and then his lips are pressed against mine. I put a hand on the side of his neck and pull him closer. He pulls away and then wipes my eyes
"YOU IDIOT" I slap him a couple of times and let out a giggle
"I had to" he laughs
"Which one?" I smirk and he smiles
"Both" he winks and my heart skips a beat
"Why kiss me?" I raise a eyebrow
"It seemed like the right moment" he shrugs
"Come on before someone steals our cake" I grab his hand and drag him along
We grab the cake and then get in the car cake still covering our faces.

I feel bad for all of you because you are gonna hate Jonah 😓
That's chapter 4 done and dusted hope you enjoyed the cuteness cause that's all gonna disappear....
