Chapter 29

“Quinn!”

I sighed and turned back to face whoever had called my name. I was in sight of the double doors to start the wedding and I was once again being called back. I seriously just want to get this over with already!

“What?” I growled down the hall as whoever the lunatic was running towards me.

Only one idiot I know would show up just the wedding was about to start. Brooklyn fucking Lynch.

“What are you doing here?” I screamed at him as he stopped in front of my puffing and panting “You’re supposed to be in New York for fuck sake!”

“Nice to see you too” he laughed breathlessly “And what charm from the bride to be”

“Don’t make you hit me with my flowers” I threatened “There roses, thorns and all”

He held up his hands in surrender “No, please, no, I like my face”

“Yeah so do I, too bad it should be in New York not Sydney!”

He laughed “You didn’t think I was going to leave you alone on your wedding day did you?”

“I was hoping you were going to” I frowned “How did you even know?”

“I have my sources” he winked “Meaning Harry”

I groaned “That boy will be the death of me”

“Well” he smiled “Seeing as I’m here can I still give you away?”

My mouth opened in shock and embarrassment. I had forgotten that Brooklyn had offered to give me away, until now the idea had been completely buried in my head. I had almost walked down the aisle alone.

“You came back to walk me down the aisle?” I whispered

He held out his hand and smiled “What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t?”

I took his hand and smiled as he wrapped my arm around his like a gentlemen and lead me to the giant double doors that were the beginning of the aisle

Georgina and Phillipa stood at the very front of the procession in pretty purple dresses with white rose petals in a basket as flower-girls, Bre and Liv stood side by side behind them with white roses in a bouquet, Abbey behind them holding Edan and Brooklyn and I at the back. Bre knocked on the door lightly, signaling that we were ready and the doors opened and the music started playing.

Georgie and Philly entered first, throwing petals onto the long purple carpet that lead towards the altar, they smiled at the Mastin family and friends of both mine and Reece that sat in white covered fold up chairs. About a minute after the girls started walking, Bre and Liv started walking forward, shortly followed by Abbey and Edan – who everyone cooed in whispers over.

Then the famous wedding bells started to play and Brooklyn stepped us forward to the entrance. Everyone turned to look towards us – except Reece.

He, the gentlemen he is, kept his back to the door the entire time I walked up the aisle, only to see me when I stopped at the altar.

I waved to Danny and Danni in the front row and to Debbie and Darren next to them, Debbie was tearing up already and I gave her a reassuring smile. Brooklyn released my arm and kissed my cheek as I stepped up to the altar and he sat down in the front row where the flower girls sat now.
