It's been about 2 hours since I came home. I've been locked in my room since.

I've cried so hard I could barely breathe.

I just can't believe she's seriously gone.

But I need to stay strong and get my sister. My mom has ways been strong through things like this. She didn't even cry when dad left. So I have to be just like mom.

I need to show Emma that I can be strong too.

I just need to contact my brother so he can come home and take custody of us so that they don't take us away.

I got my phone and typed his phone number. I took a deep breath and called.

"Hello, this is Carter Jenkins" oh geez.

"Carter....." I tried not to cry right now.

"I'm sorry, who's this?"

"It's Taylor, your sister....."

"OMG hey Tay, what's up!"

"Carter I didn't call you to say hi. And by the looks of it, you haven't heard" I was pissed

"Yo, lil sis. Are you ok?"

"CARTER IM NOT OK! MOMS DEAD AND I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE EMMA IS!" I cried loudly.

"Taylor I-" I could tell he started crying. He's not much of a person to make faces. Tears just come out of his eyes and he lightly sobs. That's one of the main reasons he's a famous actor.

"I don't need to hear it. I just need to get Emma back. You need to come home and take custody of us so we don't get taken away. I'm gonna be 18 in a few months so by then I'm on my own. But Emma...... as soon as you become our legal guardian you can go back to LA" I demanded.

"Ok.......I'll take the first flight home."

"Bye."

"Bye"

When I ended the phone call I broke down crying.

What is wrong with me?

I need to find Emma!

As soon as I thought that I got a phone call.

"Hello?" I answered

"Is this Ms. Taylor Jenkins?" This lady asked

"Yes this is her"

"I'm sure you already know about your mothers passing."

"Ummm yeah......... do you know anything about the girl in the car? She's my little sister Emma."

"That's exactly why I called. Your sister did not get hurt. And she's been in the hospital since the incident. Ms. Jenkins, you and your sister are under age to be living without parents. We're considering putting you in a children's home" she said making me break.

"That won't be necessary. My 23 year old brother is coming to take custody of us and become our legal guardian."

"That's great! Well, you just gotta go to court and do all that stuff. And get you and your little sister home with your brother."

"Do I need to pick up my sister?"

"No sweetie, we'll take her to you"

"Great thank you!"

"No problem"

I got Emma, great.

I went downstairs to get some of the money my mom left me.

But there was a knock on the door.

I was gonna ignore it but, what if it's important. Something to do with mom or Emma or Carter.

I opened it and it was Jonah.

I was gonna close the door until he stopped the door with his foot.

"Taylor, please!" He begged.

I sighed and opened the door.

He came in and gave me a hug while I cried hard on his shoulder.

"Why did she leave me?" I cried

"Everything happens for a reason"

The rest of the day we spent cuddling and me crying.

I need to stay strong.
