*A/N: Im putting a trigger warning even if I'm not using it correctly only for the sake of younger readers. There's drug usage in this book Incase you haven't read the description. It won't be strong in the first chapter but it'll involve slight drugs usage. That's all.*
----------------------Surviving every punch, every blow to the head was Luna Ramirez's only way out.
Don't close your eyes, don't close your eyes, she thought to herself every time she felt her eyelids get heavy and her breath start slowing down.
Come on Luna, you got this. She hears her parents voices whispering to her. But with one more punch, she's out cold.
Living on the streets, she literally is cold, but not because she was knocked out.. but because she had no blankets, she had absolutely nothing but a small black cardigan, a navy blue skirt and a very sheer white button up top.
But this was all before, around a year ago to be exact. Before she got involved with the wrong people who seemed right in so many ways. It wasn't easy, being abused by the people who were supposed to love and care for you, the people who were supposed to provide food and a shelter for you. Instead they provided their fists, and used her as a punching bag whenever they had their own personal problems.
Luna has no idea how she survived, but she's sure as hell glad she did.
It's mid January and Monday starts the second semester of senior year, Monday, as in today.
Luna awakes from a nightmare, sweat dripping down her forehead, and her palms clammy. She looks around the darkness and sees nobody, she's used to it. Truth is, once Luna turned eighteen, she got the hell out of her foster home and hasn't spoken to them since. Sure she had a couple of street friends, but she couldn't possibly let them know she was homeless and staying in the back of an old raggedy motel room.
She looks over at her phone and realizes it's already five forty-five. She hops out of bed and rushes to her bathroom and dresses in her DeanWood Academy uniform. A black loose pencil skirt that came up mid thigh, white button up shirt that she rolled up to her elbows revealing the bottom half of her Mandela tattoo she had on her full arm, she did her burgundy tie but kept it a little loose, and threw on her gray jacket on top rolling that up to her elbows too, slipped on her navy blue socks and black flats. She undid the messy bun in her hair and let her long raven hair fall down to her waist, and finger combed it. She stared at her self in the mirror, "Your the baddest girl in school. Everyone wants to be you. You got this. Second semester is today. Don't f*ck it up." She says to herself, she forces on a smile then heads out to her room again.
This will do.. she thought.
Quickly she grabbed her black jacket, and her bag, and went out the door.
She slid down the freezing cold stair rail immediately regretting it as it left her thighs burning. She put up her hair into a pony tail, and pulled her hoodie on so nobody recognized her if someone from school saw.
Even though everyone knew about her history, her parents death, her foster abuse, her time in juvie, her drug usage accusations and her school suspension, but what they didn't know, was that Luna Ramirez, was back and better than ever.
--She walked into DeanWood High property and everyone stared as Luna made her way through the crowds that were now parted for her, but like every highschool cliche, there's always a rude snobby bitch. And Luna's just happened to be, Carol Atkins: A brunette with brown eyes and a face always full of makeup who was waiting for her at the end of the hall probably with another insult.
