Tap, tap, tap.

Tap, tap, tap.

"Oh for heavens sake! Stop tapping your damn leg!" Adelina scolded.

"I can't help it!" I whispered back.

"Okay well I wanna listen to Mr. Hottiepants here so try and control your crazy leg!"

I placed my hand on my leg, crossed my legs, moved my chair back so I could put my head on my leg, nothing worked.

I flipped my hair back and put my head down on my desk, the tapping from my leg still making noise in the classroom.

"Stop tapping your goddamn leg!" Lily hissed, catching the attention of Mr.Smith.

"I can't help it!" I snapped.

"Well try! Some of us actually wanna learn!" She said.

"Learn what?!? Your Hispanic!" I reminded her.

"Luna...your nose is running." Adelina told me, holding onto my forearm.

I brought my finger up to my nose and felt some kind of liquid, I assumed it would've been boogers or something, anything other than blood.

"Great! Just what I needed." I scoffed.

I rubbed my nose with the sleeve of my jacket and asked for permission to go to the bathroom.

"Are you sure you wouldn't want to go to the nurse?" Mr.Smith pried.

"The longer you ask questions the more blood gets on your floor." I smiled.

He wrote me a pass and I continued to grab my book bag and head out.

With blood bleeding through the tissue and it dripping down my hand and splattering on the floor the few people in the hall gave me weird looks and began their whispers.

I swung open the bathroom door and cane face to face with Carol.

"Oh look who it is, the druggie." She said.

I shook my head and ignored her, but she kept going:

"What's wrong Luna? Sniff too much coke?" She taunted.

Before reaching for a paper towel, I grabbed my hand smeared in blood and dragged it across her shirt.

She looked down at her dirt in disgust and opened her mouth to speak, but I interrupted her.

"What's wrong Carol? Smack the wrong crack head?"

She took off her shirt and threw it in the trash can before pushing passed me and leaving the bathroom.

In all of those forty seconds I forgot my nose was still running, it stopped bleeding though.

I blew it into the towel and let me tell you, that was not a smart idea.

Blood splattered everywhere. The wall, the mirror, even the sink.

That was white.

I tried cleaning up the white specks of blood that were on the mirror first and noticed how red my eyes were. My eyes has dark circles and my face was pale. My hair was in a low messy bun and I really put the 'messy' in 'messy bun' today.

I stood for a second and stared at myself.

I'm actually walking around school like this. I actually look like this. This is actually what people see when they look at me.

I shook away the thoughts and continued to clean up. I threw away the dirty paper towel in my hand, washed my hands in the sink, watching as the crimson colored liquid that came out of my nose, staining the white sink.
