Chapter Six: Casa Mia

"What- what are you-?"

"We missed our reservation, due to well y'know. So... we came here instead. And who's this?"

"This is Greg. Greg, Daniel, Daniel, Greg." Luna introduced them and gave them space to shake hands.

"Daniel honey our food is- are you stalking us?" Jessica accused as she swung her arm over Daniel.

"Hello there Hilly. But no, no I am not stalking you. I came here for food, now if you'll excuse us, our pancakes are coming." Lina said through a polite smile.

As Jessica walked away, Daniel moved closer to Luna before whispering, "Don't get home late, we've got unfinished business." And he tapped the counter, then walked over to his booth where his lady was waiting.

"So, is that-"

"Yup."

They sat there in silence while they finished their pancakes and drinks.

"So I guess we should get going now since you had unfinished business with Mr.Spanish teacher. And who's that red head?"

"His girlfriend?" Luna was confused as to what exactly Jessica was to Daniel and why Greg insisted on getting her home early.

As Luna got up following Greg, he suddenly turned around and kissed Luna. It was a soft slow kiss that Luna's always enjoyed from Greg, but for some reason she didn't enjoy it right now, it felt wrong to her.

"What was-"

"They were watching." He said with a shrug before opening the door.

Luna followed Greg out and they walked in silence. They past the house where the party was still going on. Greg insisted to drop Luna off at the house but Luna refused and told him she'll walk with him to his corner where Larson was waiting considering the house was a couple blocks away. Hesitantly, Greg agreed and told her to call if something happens on the way home alone. Soon they came to the corner and Larson was standing there in a big blue jacket unzipped showing his black hoodie under it.

"Finally take up on my offer ma?" Larson asked.

"As if." Luna retorted.

Wow, looks like watching Clueless over and over finally helped, Luna thought.

"Go home chica, it's dark and getting late, I'll see you Saturday night si?" Greg pulled her into a hug then kissed her forehead again.

After saying their goodbye's Luna started to head to the house. She pulled her phone out from the pocket of her jacket only to find it dead.

"Shit," Luna mumbled.

She began to walk faster as she heard footsteps coming up behind her. The faster she walked, the footsteps followed. Luna knew how to fight, she was just too cold and numb to want to fight. So, Luna being herself she did the only thing that made sense; she went to the only place she could.

Cherry Oaks Motel.

She speed-walked towards the office to visit her friend Maggie. Maggie and Luna's mom were the best of friends and Maggie used to take care of Luna until she got sick, she got better, but by then it was too late. Luna had been placed in foster care.

She knocked on the door hoping to get an answer. She sat in the cold for what felt like decades with her lower stomach practically freezing and her legs ready to collapse.

When the door opens it reveals a chubby little white lady with short curly dirty blond hair and dark blue eyes. Luna rushes into the arms of the rather fluffy lady and gives her a big hug, which the lady quickly returns.
