Did I just hear that right?

"Uhm... Theo..." Fenna said. "Did... Did she just call you "dad"?"

"I did." Rana said. "He is my father."

"Isn't Theo a bit too... young... to be your father?" I asked.

Theo started to laugh. "Me? Young? That's one thing I'm certainly not!"

Me and Fenna looked at each other, and I could almost see the question marks in her eyes.

"And I'm not only Rana's father..." Theo continued. "I'm your great grandfather, Luci."

"My great grandfather?" I asked. "But that's impossible! Those are all dead!"

"I'm not very dead though..." Theo laughed. "Oh and Fenna... I'm your father's uncle."

"You're insane!" Fenna said.

Theo laughed even harder now. "You have no idea, do you?" He sat down on the table, and slowly got serious again. He looked up to us. "Luci, Fenna," he said, "I can't die of age. I'm a few centuries old by now."

"Now I understand what's so funny." I said. "Though it's not a very good joke if you ask me."

"It's not a joke." Theo said. "My Bio powers are so strong that I can heal my aging. Me and Idio were the first ones that had the powers, due to a mutation. We were the ones that started the huge family of mutants that have these powers. Though we mutants were witches, demons or other creepy creatures. I suggested to hide away until society had become more accepting, but Idio called me a coward and said that we had to fight back. That's how we got divided as we are now..."

"I don't believe any of this." Fenna said.

"Don't you understand?!" Theo called out. "What else would justify this immense far-fetched plan of mine? I'm not a random person that has a dream and fights to make it happen. I'm the father of a family and I hate to see it divided. I am willing to sacrifice whatever I've always fought for, if I can unite us mutants again..."

I saw tears sparkle in his eyes. You'd almost believe that guy.

"In the end, you all are my children..." he whispered. "I don't want you slaughtering each other. I don't want to manipulate you either, but honestly: it's better to be a bit different than you used to be than to be killed by your own brother or sister, right?"

"Trust me, girls." Rana said softly now. "He really is my father. I know who my father is. We even ran a DNA test to be sure."

"And I can see those results?" I asked.

"Sure."

That was enough for me. "So." I turned to Theo. "You're like some kind of Adam of mutants. Who's Eve, if I may ask? Is she still alive?"

Theo giggled. "Long gone." he said. "She was a normal... And she looked a lot like you, now that I think about it."

"Don't think I like you more if you say things like that, oh Holy Father!" I yelled, and I ran out.
