I ran as fast as my legs would let me through dense trees. After running for a long time, I began to be out of breath. I stopped in my tracks and leaned my arm against a tree to catch my breath.

"Where do you think you're going, Princess?" A voice suddenly asked, making the hairs on the back of my neck prickled.

I glanced over my shoulder. My heart skipped a beat when I  found Sigmund standing behind me.

Without a second thought, I sprinted deeper into the woods with Sigmund on my tail.

When we were on hot pursuit, all of a sudden, I stumbled over a tree root and fell to the ground hard.

"Ouch!" I yelled in pain.

My cheeks were hot with embarrassment when I heard Sigmund chuckling at me.

"Are you done trying to run away?" he asked sarcastically.

"No," my mind retorted, but instead I nodded.

"Come on. Let me help you up!" He reached out his hand to me.

"No, I can get up myself," I refused.

"Fine. Be my guest." He folded his arms over his chest and leaned his back against a nearby tree.

I pretended that I was about to stand up, but instead I picked up a handful of dirt and threw it to his eyes.

Sigmund cursed loudly while trying to rub the dirt off his eyes.

Taking advantage of this situation, I quickly struggled to my feet and made a dash for the forest again.

However, after only a few seconds, I suddenly bumped into someone's chest. I looked up and found Sigmund smirking at me.

"Ho-how did you do that? You-you were behind me. But-but how could you suddenly appear in front of me now?" I asked in stutter.

Sigmund shrugged. "Let's just call it my skill!"

"But it's impossible for a human to do that," I said.

Sigmund's lips curved into a smirk. "Who says I am a human?"

"What do you mean?" I asked confusedly.

He didn't answer. He just grinned at me, showing his long sharp teeth at the front of his mouth. Wait! No, it weren't even teeth. Those were fangs.

"You-you're a vam-vampire?" I stammered.

"Yes, I am," he replied confidently, "Why do you think I would taste your blood if I weren't a vampire?"

After I heard the truth, my legs just folded under me, and everything went black.
