During the period, the kids ran around, chasing after each other and throwing snowballs. It was the most fun Kit had had in a very long time. There were times in Salem where she did have fun, but it wasn't the wholesome fun that she was having in Carver.

Kit was chasing after Will, when she stopped and noticed a dark shadow standing under a lonely tree. She thought it was just her eyes but her heart turned to dust when she stared at the shadow. It did not disappear like a shadow normally would. Will noticed Kit and walked towards her.

"What's wrong?" Will asked, out of breath. She pointed at the shadow.

"Wh-what is that?" she asked, shakily. He looked over and his eyes widened.

"Shit!" he said, and began to look around for the boys and other civilians. Kit looked at Will afraid and confused. He grabbed her hand and ran towards Shawn, throwing her in his arms.

"Keep her safe!" Will yelled at Shawn. Will looked at Lee and gave him a nod. Kit's vision blurred and narrowed as she tried to make out what the shadow was.

The dark figure formed into a menacing, colossal, dragon-like monster. It was covered with scales that acted physically like feathers. There were spines shooting from its head that trailed down the back of its neck, minimizing as it got to its spiny tail. The creature had teeth like daggers and there were about a hundred of them. It nearly towered over the pine trees around it.

That monster was called a Fearer. Their real form was something of a mystery, a shadow that listened and watched innocent people. They took the form of fears or something that could create that fear.

The one that was in Carver was the color you would imagine ice to be; a kind of light blue. Some of its scales were a darker blue. Its eyes were all black except for one red dot in the center, acting as a pupil.

Will had a glistening silver sword and he was wearing shimmering chainmail armor. The sword he held was nicknamed 'Bullseye' because it never missed its target. A massive set of black wings unfolded from behind Will, and blood started leaking from his eyes.

Lee was in a 1960's Batman suit, which resembled a costume more than it did armor. He was equipped with a sword that had purple and blue jewels on the handle. It was half the side of his body.

Will ran, kicking off the ground, and his huge wings unfurled. He swarmed around the monster, looking for the best place to strike. Will plunged his sword into the neck of the beast and it threw its head back with a screech. Lee threw his sword to the ground and pulled out a water gun.

"For Narnia, AND FOR ASLAN!" he screamed as he ran, flailing his arms. Kit's vision blurred more as she saw Will valiantly fighting the monster. Lee shot at the creature's ankles with the water gun. Kit felt her body droop and she fell to the ground, being cradled in Shawn's arms. Will snapped his head towards her, trying to keep the monster at bay.

"What happened?" Will yelled at Shawn.

"I don't know!" he yelled back.

"Shawn, what happened?" Will yelled again.

"I said I don't know, dammit!" Shawn yelled louder. "Hey, wake up," Shawn said to Kit's unconscious body.

"I'm WINNING!" Lee yelled in battle, shooting at the creature's ankles. The dragon kicked Lee into a snow pile.

"Dammit, not again!" Lee yelled, muffled in the snow.

"What the fuck are we gonna do?!" Will swooped down attacked the dragon. His sword cracked in half and broke against the thick scales of the best. Will dove down and picked up Lee's sword to fight off the dragon.

"The neck, Will! Cut its neck!" Shawn yelled, taking off his jacket and wrapping it around Kit. Will sliced the nape of the dragon's neck like a hot iron through cloth and the monster screeched in pain. The beast disintegrated into thin air. Wisps of black ash and dust fell as the monster disappears. Purple blood, sinking into the white snow was the only thing the creature left behind, before the blood disappeared into the ground.
