Her first thought after entering the library was that she'd entered into the wrong building. "... I lost?" Addor mumbled to herself among seeing the rows and rows of plants.
A transparent substance, something like ice, were situated in rows from the top to the bottom. Inside the ice were groups of ferns, plants, fungus, and even other things that Addor didn't recognize.
She walked up to the closest ice block. It was about ten centimeters thick. The bottom laid against the floor while the top reached up to touch the low ceiling. The plant group inside only took up a single block, about thirty by thirty centimeters. This group had within it four plants and a reddish-brown moss like patch. Each piece seemed to have been torn roughly straight from the ground as dirt still clung to roots. Each plant was lined up side-by-side.
The first one in this block looked more like a branch as it has thick bark. On the ends were green leaves. To each leaf was a pair of dark-colored berries. The next one was a small but long, leafy plant. It looked to be a young fern. The third was similar to the first only having light brown bark instead of black and it was covered in little hairs as if the entire thing was one big, strange caterpillar. The fourth one was a pink flower that reminded Addor of a small lilly. And the last was, of course, the patch of moss that looked to have been cut straight out of the center of the plant.
If it was before, when Fan Rei still had her mind, Addor wouldn't hesitate to go to her for answers. But ever since her shocking revelation at Laoshi's Addor had found that, no matter what she did, Fan Rei wouldn't respond to her. Eventually she stopped trying.
There were other people in the library. She was looking around for the closest person to ask when a languid voice lazily began explaining from behind her. Addor turned on her heel to see Fan Rei looking absentmindedly at the square Addor had been observing.
