It's Monday after school and the funeral and wake was yesterday. We had it done soon. Not a lot of people were there because he didn't have a lot of friends or, well, family. Sam and I obviously still went though. That house was getting old and we needed to fix a few things but just never got anything done. We had a small electrical problem but did nothing about it. There was a gas leak in the basement. With the electrical problem and a gas leak caused the house to explode pretty much. So whatever Sam and I had left in that house is now gone.

Sam and I are now talking to a lawyer about my father's will. My mother and father talked about each other's will. Whoever passes first the other gets everything. Then if the only one left passes then the wills remain as they are. My father's will is pretty much leaving everything for Sam and I. There are a few things he left for co-workers but nothing from family. Rick drove us and he's sitting outside the office.

"Sorry to interrupt but we found an envelope in a safe in the basement of the house that I think you should see." A woman came in and handed the envelope to our lawyer. The woman left closing the door behind her. Our lawyer opened the envelope and started to read it. He seemed a bit confused.

"Skyelr-"

"Please just Skye." I cut him off.

"Skye, how old are you?"

"Seventeen." I responded confused.

"Hmm, ok. This is a legal document of a new guardian for you two if you have no family left. As you have no family left your parents have selected a new guardian for you if you are both still under eighteen." He told us.

"What?" I'm confused.

"Who?"

"I quote, 'If any event to cause the death of family, we allow Alaric Saltzman to be the guardian of our children, Samuel Christian Hazard and Skyelr Riona Hazard if still unable to be provide on their own.' That's what your father and mother agreed on as they signed this document." He handed us the document and I started to read it as so did Sam. Oh my god. I looked at Sam in shock, "Do you two know of an Alaric Saltzman?" He asked.

"Yes." I looked at him.

"Do you have contact with him? If you do you can contact him now or we can find contact if you would like?" He offered.

"We won't need any of that." I told him.

"Why's that?" He wondered. I stood up, "Skye where are you going?" He questioned and I opened the door.

"Please one minute." I looked at him then out at Rick. Rick looked up at me. I walked over to him and he stood up. He was confused then I gave him the document. He started to read it. When he was done he looked at me shocked, "Come on in." I told him and brought him into the room, "Sir, this is Alaric Saltzman." I looked at him as I let Rick in then closed the door.

"Do you have identification on you?"

"Yes." Rick put the document down and pulled his wallet out. He handed his driver's license to him. He looked at it for a solid minute at least. He handed the license back to Rick.

"Dale Meyer." He stood up and put his hand out.

"Alaric Saltzman." Rick shook hands with him and they both grinned, "You can call me Rick." They stopped shaking hands.

"And you can call me Dale." Dale sat back down, "So your parents left everything for you two but in the destruction of your house and the cars we are finding what you can gain back from the destruction of them. Financial wise. Same with any items in the house. Did your parents ever leave you their bank information or any other personal information?"
