The first Sunday of Lent is here!
Today, the Triumph of Orthodoxy is celebrated, along with the end of Iconoclasm (the heresy against Icons) in the Orthodox Church.
Here are today's readings:
Hebrews 11:24-26, 32-40, 12:1-2
John 1:43-51
"The name of this Sunday reflects the great significance which icons possess for the Orthodox Church. They are not optional devotional extras, but an integral part of Orthodox faith and devotion. They are held to be a necessary consequence of Christian faith in the incarnation of the Word of God, the Second Person of the Trinity, in Jesus Christ. They have a sacramental character, making present to the believer the person or event depicted on them" (Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Website).

This Sunday, before it celebrated the triumph of Orthodoxy, was dedicated to Adam's Lament.
A few final things, not entirely related to the Sunday of Orthodoxy specifically:
-Ancient Faith Radio is a wonderful online resource for learning more about the Faith! You can find podcasts, music, and much more on their website. They also have an app!
-I highly recommend reading Great Lent by Alexander Schmemann if you want to know more about Lent!
-Go visit an Orthodox church! Seriously, this is the best way to learn about Orthodoxy.
-Talk to an Orthodox priest!
Blessed Lent, everybody!
