Oh yes, the past can hurt. But, you can either run from it or, learn from it.

Christopher Fernández POV:

I sighed and lean back on my chair. I pinched the bridge of my nose. There's so many things going on. She can't know. At least not for now.

Why did Beth react like this when she saw Lindy?

My thoughts were interrupted when my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and sighed.

'Shit' I mumbled to myself.

"Why didn't you go for the meeting Chris?" The deep voice boomed through the phone.

" I had something on." I said in a low voice.

"Stop giving me nonsense Christopher!"

I kept quiet. I could feel my anger arising. It suddenly felt so stuffy so I loosened my tie a little.

"There's another meeting again the day after tomorrow and I want you to go. No more excuses is that clear?"

"Where's the meeting at?" I said irritatingly.

"UK."

"Why does it always have to be organised there?!" I probed angrily.

"All you have to do is go and attend the meeting and you can fly back once the meeting is over. It's final."

I hang up without replying and slammed my phone down on my desk.

"Yo bro-" Adam walked in.

"Opps looks like it's the wrong timing to come."

I just rolled my eyes.

"Would you believe if I say I could make your facial expression exactly like mine in less than 1 minute?" I smirked.

"Go ahead and try." Adam said like it was no big deal.

I took my phone and set the timer. I press the start button and looked up at him.

"We will be having a meeting at UK. No excuses this time round." I smirked even more when I saw Adam's expression.

I stopped the timer and said " Wow. I'm impressed by myself. It took me just 10 seconds to make you jaw dropped. Looks like I could do a better job than those girls in the club." I laughed.

"What the fuck?! I'm done advising you about all those bullshits and now we have to go to UK specially for the meeting?!" Adam exclaimed.

"Come on I have to leave my family for that meeting." I groaned.

"Now that you've mentioned your family. How's Beth?" Adam asked.

"Good but not so good. Our son is sick and Beth is going through lots of shit." I said.

"Oh your son is sick...YOUR SON??!! You have a SON?!" Adam reacted like he's the one with the son.

"Holy crap! You have a son and you didn't tell me? I'm an uncle now. What's his name? Do you have a picture? How old is he? When did you have him?" Adam blabbered.

"Stop!" I raised my voice and used my hand to indicate him to stop.

"Okay answer me one by one. Every single thing." Adam said as he pulled the chair and sat in front of me.
