ShadedOak watched her kits with a warm gaze as they followed their mentors out of the bramble tunnel. She caught up to Frostpaw and Bluepaw, walking beside them. A bittersweet look came into her eyes. If only Duskkit were able to do this.

Blizzardsky and Pineblaze, the ShadowClan deputy, were walking beside each other, fur brushing. She chuckled softly. However, her friend had denied it, but she very clearly had feelings for him.

The very-pale-gray tabby had told ShadedOak the day before. She had laughed, eyes shining, telling Blizzardsky she couldn't have hidden her feelings even if it was possible.

Soon, the patrol reached Four Trees. After the battle, things had been much calmer when dealing with WindClan. Duststar dipped his head respectfully to Echostar as she walked over to the Great Rock. All of the clans began settle down as talk quieted.

Bluepaw and Frostpaw sat beside their mother, Blizzardsky on the other side of them. Beechstar began to speak, announcing her news first.

"We have had plenty of prey, despite the cold weather and snow," She then continued. "Recently we have lost Emberclaw to an infection, caused by unknown cats, most likely rogues."

"I'm so terribly sad about that," She whispered in Blizzardsky's ear, who smothered a chuckle. Where they were, everyone could see how 'sad' she was about that. Glancing around, she could see very few cats that actually looked sad.

Echostar stepped forward, and began to announce her news after the ThunderClan leader finished. "ShadowClan has been doing well also, despite the cold. Recently, there have been two new apprentices, Bluepaw and Frostpaw."

The clans cheered their names, and the two new apprentices ducked their heads, a little daunted by all of the other cats. Echostar waited for them to quiet before speaking again.

"Luckily there is no longer tension between my clan and WindClan. Thankfully it was gone before the first snows came," She stepped back, dipping her head respectfully to Duststar.
