Dimitri's POV

I was so surprised by Rose's sudden appearance and her shooting Tasha, that I couldn't remember immediately what to say.

"Restrain her until you get further orders from me," she instructed the guardians.

As they dragged a screaming and thrashing, wounded Tasha away, I scrambled to catch Rose who had put the gun in her pocket and was heading out again.

"Rose," I caught her hand to stop her.

She wrenched her hand free from me,"We've nothing to talk, Belikov. If you want to thank me, then it's okay. Think that I've repaid all your debts."

"Rose," I pleaded, "Please listen to me. I didn't mean for any of it to happen. I had been hoodwinked by Tasha and couldn't think clear at that moment."

"Sorry, you've hurt me way too much to make me go back to where we were before this day. Belikov, I don't know where my feelings for you lie," she looked away.

"Rose, what can I do to make up for all my follies. I'll do anything. Anything at all... If you want even I'll help you get answers out of Tasha."

"No need of answers anymore from your Tasha. Go and take her back to Tarasov, ensure that she doesn't flee again," she retorted.

"Why? You got information as to where Lissa is?"

"Lissa has not been captured by Strigoi. Lissa has gone after Christian. Tasha had planned for them to take Christian away, which will lure Lissa in, and she knew it would be me after her, you after me. I bet that bitch has planned a surprise ambush for the three of us... And then eliminating us would be so easy."

I hadn't spoken a word throughout the whole while. There was only one thought. God! Save Lissa. Rose can't live without Lissa.

"Rose, so are you going after Lissa as Tasha had wanted, and just let her plan be successful? "

She sighed," Do you see any other way, Dimitri?"

"We'll go, but with the team, with precautions and with a mission. Don't worry. We'll bring back Lissa," I tried to negotiate, promise, anything to stop her from rushing then and there.

Tasha's words were ringing in my ears. Anyone who goes after the Strigoi will be in danger.

"Not 'we', Belikov,'you'. I'm going after Lissa. You shall not follow me," she said, determination evident in her tone.

"I'll not beg you to include me," I replied, looking straight at her, "But I think your heart knows that I'll follow you anyway."

She closed her eyes and relaxed her posture. Then with a sigh she replied, " Dimitri, I don't know where my feelings are anymore."

"But I know," I said, carefully trying to break through her shield, "You came back to protect me. Why would you do that?"

"Was just passing by I guess," she averted my eyes.

"Oh really! That's a nice coincidence, isn't it," I tried to raise my eyebrows.

"Fine Belikov," she let out an exasperated sigh. "I'll let you tag along this time. But you must get me information from Tasha by hook or crook. Though I doubt she'll disclose her plans. "

"Leave it all to me captain. I can be really dangerous when I want to be."

She rolled her eyes, "Fine, then get me information before we chalk out a plan."

She turned around to leave but I had something else to know. And I was dying to know the truth.

"Umm, Rose..."

"Yes?"

"Am I forgiven?"

"I won't take someone to war if I don't trust him," she gave a mysterious smile and left.

I stood speechless. What did it actually mean? Did it mean that she had really believed me?
