New Beginnings

Chapter 3

The night went on without any major issues. Chris stay there watching her and Lisa finally fall over to sleep. They was taking turns sleep and watching her. Chris was not able to sleep because he was worried about her and this secret. As the clock hit midnight he saw her started to shake. Chris popped up which cause him to drop his notebook on the floor. That sound woke up Lisa in the process. She went over to her to try to stop it as Chris put his hand on her. She woke up and looks like she was having nightmare. She looked around and saw that Chris was there with Lisa. She figured it was going to bother her until she told him the secret and the truth.

"Chris I guess you know by now I am hiding something. I don't want you to leave but if you must I understand." Brittany said as she pulled herself up. Then she motion for him to sit next to her. Lisa sat in her spot on the floor in front like she was. Chris went over to sit down and Lisa handed him the notebook.

He put it aside because he could not write anyways. As he slid the pen in the notebook he could see that Brittany's eyes were filling up. He put his arms around her. Lisa saw this and thought oh here we go. She did not know what to do next because it had to be her to tell Chris. Brittany just looked at him and then away. Chris knew it was something major or serious. She took off the blanket. Lisa got up but Brittany shook her no.

"Go get my bag please, Lisa." Brittany said to her. Then she added, "Please get me a drink while you are in there. Thanks"

She turned and look at Chris, she did not know how she was going to tell him but she needs to. Lisa gave her a drink and her bag. She put the drink on the table. She went through her bag. She pulled out a mini notebook. She flipped through it until she stopped. Chris knew this was something to do with the secret. Then she took out her phone and unlocked it. He was sitting there quietly not know what to do. She looked at it what seems to be forever.

"I know it is normal but you are looking at the phone for while. Is there something you are looking for that I could help? Chris asked trying to nice.

Lisa just made a sign for him to wait. Chris knew that these things were connected somehow and he quietly went back on the couch. Brittany looked at him and put the two items between them. Then she got up and walked off. Lisa followed her into another room. Chris looked at the notebook and noticed the phone went black. He just tries to figure out how to unlock. When Lisa came back, she reached for the phone. She unlocked it and handed it back to Chris. Chris looked at the picture and he read what was in the notebook.

"It shows Robert and her together they look like they were in love. The notebook is talking about me. Is this the secret? Is she confused who she wants to be with? Did she leave the room because she does not want to confront me about it?" Chris said to Lisa.

Brittany came back and look like a mess. Lisa grabbed her and walked her to the couch again. Chris looked at the phone and notebook. She noticed that Chris has seen it. The phone goes off and it is Robert. He handed it to her and leaves the room. He walked to the backdoor which where they came in. he just sits there looking out the window. He just sat there not saying a word. He was thinking that Laura was right about having a big secret. Lisa came over to him. She just put her hand on his shoulder. He could tell something was wrong between Robert and Brittany but, he did not get into with her. As Lisa looked over she said that Brittany was losing it again. She went to her as she let it out. She threw her phone on the floor. She grabbed it from the floor. Lisa took from her and put it on the table close to Chris. Chris got up and grabbed the notebook. He took page out of the notebook and wrote his address and his cell number. As he left through the backdoor he looked back at them. Lisa knew that Chris was going home.

"Chris, one more thing before you goes away?" Lisa said as he was leaving.

"Yes Lisa, what is it?" Chris said in little mean tone.
