Chapter 28

Chris wonders what this meant. He did not want to wake up Brittany. He quietly leaves the room. Lisa saw him and Chris closed the door. Lisa watched as he went to the living room. She quietly followed him and then he grabbed his notebooks. He also went through folders that were lying on his desk. When he went to the kitchen, Steve was sitting there. That is when he noticed that Lisa was behind him the whole time. Chris pulled the chair out and then put the stuff on the table. She noticed he did not even go for his coffee. He sat there and they waiting for him to say something. He opened the folders and flipped the notebook open. Lisa looked at Steve. He did not know what is going on. Chris was quieter then he normally would. She finally realized that he has police information for Rose and Daisy. He flipped another open and it was information about Ruby and Emily. It was the information about what happened the night they were killed. Chris looks up and noticed that Steve and Lisa were there. He reached up and pops his ear buds out.

"Sorry, I did not notice you. I got called from Daisy little while ago. I want to connect something to see if I am right. I had theory about Daisy. Look I am sorry but something does not feel right about her. I mean I don't know her that much. Rose was one that I was friends with. Now Daisy wants to help after being gone for so long." Chris said

"We was wondering what was going on. I saw you did not even want your coffee. As long as I have know each other. You always have coffee or something. This must be serious." Steve said

"Yeah you did not even notice I was behind you. I was watching you the whole time. I mean you did not even wake Brittany up like you normally do." Lisa said as she looked at her coffee.

"Steve, will you make me a cup of tea. My stomach is bothering me. I think it is nerves but it could be I having that issue again." Chris said as he wrote.

"The normal kind or stronger brew?" Steve said as he got up

"The normal should work." Chris said

"This is weird. How does Steve know what you are talking about?" Lisa said

"When we were recovering from that night we both got injured. I told him about this tea." Steve said as he started it

"Yeah it works every time." Chris said

They heard footsteps and Chris looked down the hall. He saw she was wake and look like she was sad.

"Sorry baby. I want to do research. I did not want to wake you up. Come here beautiful." Chris said he put the things to side.

Brittany walked to him. She hugged him and she looked at the notebooks and folders.

"What is this?" Brittany said

"It is research. Something felt off about Rose and Daisy. I could not fully trust Daisy. I think there is something she is hiding. I got police research and things they have done. The other folder is about Rudy and Emily. It has the report about when they were killed. I am trying to connect the dots. I am trying to be prepared in case something happens. I will stop if you need me. You are important." Chris said

"Here you go Dude." Steve said as he handed it over

"Thanks dude." Chris said as he took it

"Are you okay baby?" Brittany said

"Yeah I think I got nerves got to me problem, I hope that is all it is." Chris said

Brittany went to get her coffee. Chris whistles at her. She looked at him and smiled. She could tell that Chris was okay. She looked at Lisa and pointed to the bag. She grabbed it. She put in her chair. Chris went back to work but kept looking at her. When she turns around towards him, Chris just smiles at her. He decided it could wait because she wanted him. Brittany put her arm around Chris. He kissed her on the cheek. Brittany was watching him as he drew hearts on the table. Steve reached over to Lisa. She moved closer to him. They could not help because Chris made them this way. Lisa reached in the bag and slides the black folder across the table. Chris saw it and grabbed it. Brittany flipped it open. They saw paperwork inside and brunch of signatures.
