"Imani, I swear your dad looks exactly like king T'challa"
"I swear if you guys say that one more time I'm going to scream. My dad and Chadwick Boseman look nothing alike." I groan tossing my empty popcorn bag into the trash.
For the first time in about a month all of us were able to hang out together, and obviously our choice in outing was to see Black Panther. Each of us also brought our significant other, turning it into a huge couple date. Even constantly single Ryder managed to bring his new 'friend' Estelle along, the new French student.
Money well spent, I must see it at least three more times no question.
"Can we discuss how fine Michael B. Jordan was in this movie. I mean all the men in that movie were drool worthy, but Michael just took the cake."
Not even needing a second to think, Blake, Liza, Sage, and I all swooned in agreement. Much to the guys annoyance.
"Not as fine as me, though right?" Khalil pouts, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
Snorting I pat his back before turning to him.
"Khalil. If Michael B. Jordan told me to dump you just to be his sidechick, I'd do it in a heartbeat."
His face falls immediately before his pout returns and he starts grumbling under his breath. A kiss on the cheek is all it took for him to get over it. The sound of a laugh pulls my attention from my pouting boyfriend to one of my favorite people, and a grin instantly spreads across my face.
Parker.
Except this time, he is with a girl. Clearly, she said something funny because his face has its usual red hue that he gets whenever he laughs to hard. I took one look at her and I could tell she was a sweet girl. Hence, I invited her to join our little group. He introduced us to her about three weeks ago, and it's safe to say everyone in our group was surprised.
No one was expecting him to be gaining interest in a new girl so quickly after everything with me and him ended. Well everyone except me, I already knew about her from going through his text messages in Chemistry and thoroughly teased him about it. Before anyone knew it Jasmine had gotten Parker to move on, and I can honestly say I'm really happy for him.
According to him, his favorite thing about her is her dreads. He's in love with them.
"Jazz, Park! We're all planning on getting ice cream, you guys coming?" Ryder calls over his shoulder.
The two of them nodded before speeding up to catch up with the rest of the group. Stepping out of the theater it took my eyes a bit of time to adjust to the slightly brighter sunset.
