First off, I want to apologize for how long it took me to update. I was stumped on what to write about for the longest time. There's probably a few more chapters in store, but I can say with honesty that Parker and Imani's story is near it's end :').

He hasn't stopped rambling about the girl he was talking to at the party since he got into the car, and for once I'm not annoyed by a friends drunken rambling. My chest fills with a warm feeling at the sight of his dopey, intoxicated, smile even if it's about another girl.
This is the kind of Parker that I like seeing. A happy one, and as much as it pains me to admit it, he hasn't been truly happy for too long. And I know that's my own fault.
"You know I'm going to make sure you remember the date you set up tomorrow right?"
His face stretches into another grin before he starts nodding like a bobble head.
"I wouldn't expect anything less!" He cheers slumping back into my passenger seat, eyes starting to droop.
Coming up to a stop light I spare a quick glance at my phone before replying to Wes that I did pick Parker up and I am bringing him to his house. I know Ms. Wilson would slaughter Park on the spot if she saw him cross faded.
Literally.
The light turns green and a place my phone back in its holder clicking back to the GPS directions.
"Mani how are you and Khalil doing?"
Grimacing slightly, I spare him a glance relieved that he didn't notice my change in behavior. Especially when it's about the ex-boyfriend of mine that he still thinks I'm with. The ex that I've been broken up with for about a week now, even though we just got caught making out at the Scoop a couple hours ago. A stupid mistake on both of our parts. A mistake I'm never making again.
"We're good. He keeps trying to kill me at the gym, but I find ways to get back at him." I lie.
Last time I went to the gym with him was the first week we started dating. Although our breakup was mutual and we're still close friends, I highly doubt we'll be doing any more his and hers workout plans anytime soon. Especially since we aren't even going to the same school anymore, a detail he failed to tell me about that I only found out after seeing a duffle bag full of University of Tennessee track wear in it.
Of course I was pissed that he didn't tell me about his change in decision after Tennessee offered him a full ride for track, much like Wake Forest did, but I wasn't mad at him for choosing his dream school instead of following me. It's what resulted in our breakup, that and a certain grey eyed boy that he didn't like me around and I who couldn't get out of my head.
Don't get me wrong, I know that he loved me, I felt the same. But I also know Khalil, he's been a flirt since I've known him. I know he wouldn't cheat on me, but I also know that once another girl manages to win him over whatever we have is history. So our love story was short and sweet, but I don't regret a second of it. His still my Khalil and I'm still his Sina, that will never change, and if he thinks for a second that he's gotten rid of me I'll be sure to give him a personal ass whooping reminding me I'm still his childhood best friend.
"Do you think Kai and I will be happy too?"
"I sure hope so Park." I smile
He didn't respond, but his breath evened out and I was sure he fell asleep.
I'm just glad he didn't notice the disappointment in my voice.
